Oh yeah, that's a thing that slipped my mind, the film's self-awareness about younger May did get a bit old. And to be fair, Tony and May are probably about the same age, though in retrospect...
If Tony didn't say it clearly enough, we actually get it in an audio flashback which I didn't need at all, I still had that in mind, thanks.
And I agree 100% with this. I was even sitting there thinking "oh, this is the moment where Peter learns— aaaaaaaaaaaand thanks for that spoonfed recollection." I don't think it's really a sin, but I've just become such a big fan of subtle storytelling lately that I didn't appreciate it.
