So in my next quest, the total amount of hearts the player will have is 12. Normally a row of hearts always is default to 10. I wanted to change it so I have two rows of six. How can I make this work?

In this image, I was testing out the health to see how it would look like. However, when starting up the quest, the player is shown with 12 hearts when they are supposed to start with 3. On top of that, when taking damage, the player loses health, but the meter does not change. It acts as though the player does have 3 hearts, but it's technically invisible.

Here are the setting I have for Heart#12 as an example.

Have you arranged your tiles like in this example here? http://www.purezc.ne...ge=tiles&id=747

I also think you need to check the upper two "Mod" checkboxes for each heart.

So checking 'mod' for the top two boxes made it half-fixed. I lose hearts when taking damage with the three I start the player with. However, the other 9 hearts are still displayed and static.

How do I arrange those tiles shown from the example? Do I have to change the tile of all four slots for each heart to the 'one-heart' tile?

Okay, in this thing you have four boxes:
Not Last
Last
Cap
After Cap

Each one has a mini tile (8x8) selector, which you choose using the other mouse button.

Not Last

Is the graphics used for the heart piece if it's not any of the other three.

Last

This is the graphics used if it's the very last container out of the ones the player currently have.

Cap

This is the graphics used for the very next additional HC.

After Cap

This is the graphics used for every other HC past that point.

In the screenshot you have all four select as full hearts, what you'll want to do is make the Cap and After Cap ones use the empty space mini tile. (Lower right.)

It's getting there. Thanks for that. Unfortunately, a new problem occurred. If I take damage, my 'half-heart' sprite is gone and it's only that instance for each heart.

Why is this in the Tutorials forum?

My mistake. Could have sworn I added this in the ZQuest Editor Forum.

I still need help with the half-heart issue though.

Can you post your tilepage with your heart tiles? I'm not sure what else might cause the issue, if not the arrangement of the tiles.

This is my tile page with the hearts. Pretty much the default like any tileset. So I am not sure why it's acting differently.

Here is the arrangement for my life meter. It's the same for all 12 hearts.

You're supposed to put the bottom two boxes (Cap, after cap) on the top right of the tile, not the bottom right.

All that did was make the last four hearts half when I am at full health. When I take damage, the eighth heart changes to half.

Hm, then I'm not exactly sure. I use half heart pieces in my subscreen so mine must be a little different. If I were you I would keep playing with them. You did give each individual heart its own "Container" number, right?

If you mean for (Not Last, Last), then yes

No. Like in that picture you posted, it says Container: 1. Each heart has to be its own number.

Okay, I got it fixed. I used these new heart tiles, and I selected specific hearts for the four slots. Thanks.
