What? Did the people who built this never hear of handrails?

@Neptune- Did Ecruteak enter and you didn't post the shot? Or did you put his name instead of mine in the poll?

Either way, didn't vote since I'm in this one.

So, here's my thoughts on the others.

Jared- I really like this screen. The overlayer of leaves looks better than anything I'd done in a similar effort. Is that right area of water supposed to be falling from a higher level? It's hard to tell.

Demonlink- I'd already seen this one that you posted elsewhere, but it's still impressive. The palette really pulls off the beach vibe.

To be honest, I think all of the shots this week are excellent. Good job, everyone!

Haha, my apologies, ywkls. It seems that I accidentally put his name instead of yours. Will correct it.

Edit: Seems I was getting mixed up between this week and last week with entries.

ywkls - a good and solid screen, though the other two did throw in real monsters. With all the wood a forest-feeling would be great, but the blue treetops kill that for me.

Demonlink - the sandy outlines, the two types of grass on sandy ground, the single flower, the palms and two types of water. Together they create a complete and beautiful image but on their own I think they wouldn't fit in perfectly. This is buried with everything going on and I don't really care, but I think that made me choose Jared.

Jared - a lovely and awesome screen. I am not too fond of the colors the transparent layer creates, especially the blue trees.

^ Man, you really hate blue trees, Naru. :P

I voted for Jared. I like the waterfall, and it's cool to see people try to to other things like this with the perspective.

Voted for Jared. Sideways waterfall was a nice touch that sealed your vote from me.

I only have a remark for ywkis. You have the germ of a really great idea in the shot, but are missing a few key details. The big trees that support the wooden platform can't just end with the wooden platform, you've got to have some big trees continue passed the platform to the top of the screen. In addition, you need some foreground overhangs. Seeing as how this is a winter shot, the overhangs I guess would have to be bare branches. Maybe you can rip something from golden sun? or draw something if you're feeling bold. Also, showing any detail at all about how the wooden platforms are fastened to the supporting trees would be a great detail.

Actually, the blue trees are that way due to the surrounding area's palette rather than the season.

Example shot from exterior

I do like the idea of having other trees rising from the forest around the platforms which go above the area where you're at.

I might also have some that go through the platforms, to make obstacles which you must circumvent.

I've submitted the current form of the map for this area for Map of the Month, but that doesn't mean I won't continue to edit and improve it as I get critique.

ywkls - Looks like quite an interesting concept for a treetop area. I do like the clouds added in the background to give that extra feeling that you're really high up. That works quite well. The perspective seems a little weird with the ladders at the bottom (can't tell if you're going up or down or what) but yeah besides that, it's alright. Also yes, no handrails must be a total disaster up there :P

Jared - I gotta say, this looks really pretty. The transparent layers really create a nice setting here. Also is that a sideways waterfall I'm seeing here? I don't think I've ever seen that done with the EZGBZ tileset before, so that's looking really unique and cool! Great job here.

Demonlink - Saw this elsewhere, but man this is really nice. I really like the beach setting and all the tiles and scenery fit very well.

Very tough choice between Jared and Demonlink this week. But I'll go for Jared, that horizontal waterfall really won me over this time lol.

I never thought I'd see the day where someone could pull off a vertically-aligned waterfall. Voted for Jared.
