Well, My top 3:

3. Link to the Past: It was really fun.

2. Zelda II: I love this game. (Probably because I played it a long time ago)

1. Zelda I: It was the game that started the whole thing.

#1) The Wand of............*sounds of being dragged away from machine and beaten*

All jokes aside I like almost every Zelda game I have played equally, so I am not going to do a full list, just touch on a few key exceptions

Three games are tied for my favorite:

Zelda: NES

Minish Cap

Twilight princess

I know there have been a fair amount of criticism towards each of these, and I think the points made against them are very valid. In particular, I think the Satellite makes a great point about Vaati and Ezlo both, and (perhaps ironically) I find the Minish to be the worst part of the Minish Cap - they are all kind of annoying. But I love the presentation of atmosphere of the game. The art style is one of my favorites for the 2D games and the music is great. The overworld was nice and colorful and filled with exciting puzzles, but it was large and made quests tedious. Dungeons were fun, even if the bosses were mostly dissapointing. I still play this one fairly frequently.

Twilight Princess, likewise, has a variety of faults both in story (Ilya in particular) and gameplay (tedious trying to find the extra stuff at the end). Still, it reignited my interest in the Zelda franchise, leading me to download the 1.90 ZC on my toaster way back in 2008. The story had good momentum and the gameplay was very good on both Gamecube and Wii (though, yes the motion controls were extraordinarily clunky).

Zelda for the NES: I understand some do not like it or think that it hasn't aged well, which  I think is true to a degree. But it is still a great game to sit new players down in front of and teach them how to play. It is simple to learn, but complex enough that you have to think on how to kill some of the bosses. The secrets are indeed needlessly complex, especially the door repair rooms (Abei, you need to stop building your houses inside monster filled cliffs, man, you brought this on yourself). I know almost every secret in the game, but I still love playing it just the same, including playing the rextextured/reimagined versions in Zelda Classic.

The "worst" game is Zelda II. I think it is a good, but not great game. I think it was ambitious for its time, a point in its favor, but it was implemented badly. Still, having played it, I truly enjoyed it, save for some really frustrating parts, until the JRPG player in me started grinding forever before each dungeon. I like Zelda II, but it absolutely could have been better.

19. Spirit Tracks
I like the overworld. And the dungeons are probably some of my favorites in the series. Exploration is okay, as are the puzzles. My main issue is music. Not the sounds, but playing the flute. This is the only game I technically haven't beaten. Cause I didn't want to play the song in the finale after dying.

18. Legend of Zelda
The dungeons are fine for the first entry, though there is that difficulty spike on level 6. My biggest issue is that you can reach Gohma and be unable to beat him cause you haven't gotten the arrow. Still fine game though.

17. Phantom Hourglass
Nothing particularly wrong with it imo. I actually love the way the bottom screen was used. I'd love if every game let you draw on the map. It just suffers from not having anything especially great.

16. Minish Cap
This may have my favorite art, some of my favorite dungeons, and my favorite music. It even has a good story. I feel the last dungeon is a bit of a difficulty spike though, and I think it needed more to really stand out more to me.

15. Skyward Sword
I love the artwork and the music, and I think the story is pretty good. It's a fun game, with good dungeons and a stealth segment I really enjoy. I don't like the structure of the overworld though. Everything is disjointed and doesn't feel like it's even the same world to me.

14. Link's Awakening
Very fun, and excellent dungeons. One of the best stories in the series as well. I love all the gameboy titles, but this is my least favorite. Issues for me are the mandatory fetch quest, sfx that I find annoying, and it just being a bit too weird for me. The pros just make up for that a lot.

13. Wind Waker
Again, I love so much about this game. It's beautiful, has fine dungeons, and great music. Combined with some of the best characters and a wonderful plot. I also love the idea of an open ocean. But I just find the overworld too vast and empty to compare with some of the games I like more.

12. Four Swords Adventures
This is an excellent multiplayer title. It may even be the best multiplayer Zelda because it has a legitimately solid single player option. Stages range mostly from fine to fun with a few stinkers mixed in. Some of the secrets are pretty stupid though and you basically have to look up a guide to find them out. If not for that, this would be higher.

11. A Link Between Worlds
Beautiful title containing a really cool wall mechanic. The dungeons are very fun, and the overworld is well put together. I do like that it resembles ALttP so much, but adds a good story with a nice plot twist. However I feel I would like this more if AlttP didn't exist or this were its own world.

10. Twilight Princess
Dungeons are spot on perfect in a way that no other game in the series can match. Aside from the lackluster Twilit Palace. Zant is a wonderful villain and controlling Link is as fun as it has ever been. Long tutorial and wolf segments bring it down a little bit. But my main issue is that I just find the overworld too... brown.

9. Triforce Heroes
Say whatever you want about the silly plot and the multiplayer aspect of the game. Despite a meh single player mode, the multiplayer mode is fantastic. And to me it is nice, light hearted fun. A lot of fun stages and I love playing it with people online.

8. Ocarina of Time
It has some of the best dungeons in the series, some nicely crafted areas, and did a great job at bringing Zelda into 3D. It's overall a fun game and one where I can't find a dungeon I really dislike. The story is fine. Everything is fine. Although Hyrule Field could use a bit more.

7. A Link to the Past
This game possibly has the best items in the entire series. Along with a rich overworld and mostly excellent dungeons. If not for a couple segments, this would be in my top 3. My main issue being that some segments are a little deficient in magic refill. It is packed with fun content though.

6. Breath of the Wild
So much fun to explore, and a lot to do. The world is massive and enjoyable to experience. I like the true open world feel, though there were a couple Zelda traditions I feel should have been kept. Such as unique bosses and dungeons. That end game Hyrule Castle was absolutely perfect though.

5. Hyrule Warriors
It's probably debated whether to consider this a Zelda game, but it is absolutely a Zelda title. And the Zelda time I've put the most time into. I already Musou games, so mixing it with my favorite series just made it that much more appealing. The game is just a blast. Though eventually the DLC Adventure maps made things pretty ridiculous. But I will always love plowing through enemies with my favorite Zelda characters.

4. Majora's Mask
This is the best story in the series in my opinion. The characters are excellent written, and I actually love the 3 day time mechanic. The dungeons are pretty nice and the masks are wonderful for the most part. Skull Kid is my favorite villain in the series. I just love the dark tone in this game. My favorite 3D Zelda.

3. Adventure of Link
Yeah, the black sheep, but a ball bustingly wonderful black sheep. This game won't hold your hand and I loooove it for that. I also love the variety of spells and sword techniques as well as the dungeons. It may be because I'm a sucker for sidescrolling fun, but this is an excellent adventure. Although that path to the Great Palace is pretty insane. But at least you get a continue point afterwars. My biggest issue is that you can reach Thunderbird and not be able to beat him of you didn't get the Thunder spell.

2. Oracle of Seasons
Just an absolutely fun game to play. The dungeons are at worst inoffensive, and at best masterpieces, see Sword and Shielf Maze. The biggest thing stopping this from being my favorite game is the slow start and the stupid collecting shapes segment. Otherwise it's just excellent fun with wonderful dungeons.

1. Oracle of Ages
Yeah. The best Zelda game in the series for me. Why? Everything is just perfect to me. The overworld is full and lovely. The dungeons are all great to me. And even the segments people don't like, I love. Jabu Jabu's Belly is one of my favorite dungeons in the series. Everything in the game is at worst really good to me. And that's why it's my favorite. It even tells a pretty good story.

Glad I'm not the only one who loves Ages the most. It was my first, and my favorite. I'll never get bored of it.

1. Link's Awakening
1. A Link To The Past

Tie for 1st. Link's Awakening has more emotional depth and unique dungeon tracks, while A Link to the Past has the grand epic scale and rich lore.

3. The Wind Waker
3. Twilight Princess

Tie for 3rd. Twilight Princess has better combat, more dungeons, and lots of half bosses, while Wind Waker has more replay value in the depth of its overworld exploration.

5. Skyward Sword
5. Ocarina Of Time

Tie for 5th. Skyward Sword made huge strides in the overworld not feeling like a series of small rooms with load times, and I liked the motion swordplay. Ocarina of Time excels in its excellent dungeon design and the depth of its overworld exploration, but is a little weak in story and very weak in combat.

7. The Minish Cap

A beautiful LttP style game and the only 16(+) bit traditional sprite-based game since LttP. It's on the short side and the overworld is too restrictive, but I still love it.

8. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
8. Majora's Mask

Tie for 8th. Majora's Mask is more fun in terms of gameplay and controls, but I don't like all the waiting around for events, and I don't like missing events, or the pressure of the clock. Also much of the music is really grating to my ears. Zelda II is simple, solid fun, but could benefit from some fine-tuning.

10. A Link Between Worlds

This game has great level design and overworld style, but I dislike the clunky and awkward feel of the controls. I miss the pixel-perfect precision of the sprite-based games. I also dislike the way swords are centered on characters' belly buttons, and the stamina meter's effect on things like arrows. The more I play it, the more it feels like a mobile-game version of LttP, especially when you do a 3 heart run and you notice your ability to manuever in boss arenas is quite poor.

11. Phantom Hourglass

This is such a watered-down, bland version of traditional Zelda it's disappointing. But it's superior to its train-based sequel in every way (except musically). I do really like the ultimate villain and the emotional ending.

12. Four Swords Adventures

Stage-based Zelda is very different, and while I like traditional Zelda more, this is still pretty good. The music and visuals are very well done.

13. Oracle of Seasons
13. Oracle of Ages

An attempt to revisit the Game Boy Zelda style that very much falls short of the glory of Link's Awakening. I do like these games, but the music is mostly bland (or grating), the story is flat, and overworld navigation can become overly tedious in places.

15. The Legend Of Zelda

A classic game I can't love as much as I want to. The appeal of the old-school aesthetics doesn't last very long when I'm dealing with the locked-to-grid movement, the bland environments, the lack of music variety, and some cheap enemies.

16. Spirit Tracks

A clone of Phantom Hourglass that gives you even less overworld exploration with its train gimmick. And the ultimate villain and ending did nothing for me. PH and ST aren't the worst thing ever, you can have some fun and amusement with them, but they are just so shallow next to the traditional Zelda series games. Spirit Tracks does have some fantastic music though.

17. Four Swords

A fun mini-game at the time that hasn't aged well. It's pretty weak in terms of music and visuals. At least the opening intro and title theme are excellent.
