So, it's been about a year since I last tried to make a Zelda Classic quest, and I decided to go with my favorite version, 1.92 beta 183. However, upon starting the program, it went into a big window which was pure black, and nothing started. It then crashed. So did Zquest. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Zelda Classic 1.92 Beta 183 not working on Windows 10?

I mean, the other option is to get a virtual machine and download Windows XP (or older) from somewhere. I wouldn't know where, and unless you have an installation CD or some kind of backup on a USB it's likely illegal. Even so, the new versions are pretty good.

Actually, it will run if you use DXGL, as I recall. It's entirely unsupported now, though.
Releasing a quest in that version also means that the average user may encounter issues when playing it, although all 1.92b183 quests should run properly in 2.53.0.
It would be wiser of you to use the curreny version of ZQuest. None of the 1.92 features have been removed, and you can use the small interface if you prefer that.

UPDATE
Found the fix in this thread. It works for beta 184, so it should work for the other versions. https://www.purezc.n...showtopic=68678

Why exactly are you adamant about using an ancient, unsupported build that (1) never exited beta and (2) barey runs?
Who are your target audience?
What will you do if you fid that your quest does not play as itended in the current build??

At this point, there is no good reason to develop in any version prior to 2.50.2. Honestly, devs should switch to 2.53 instead of that at this point, though there is the argument of not wanting to upgrade mid-project.
If you don't want a new feature, then.... don't use it?
