Dear devs,

Summary

I was playing around with the generic combo type and it appears the custom sound effect is not playing.

Version info

2.55 alpha 78

OS info

Windows 10

Details

I was playing around with the generic combo type and it appears the custom sound effect is not playing. According to the combos.txt doc it's possible (and obviously by the field/flag on the Combo Edit screen). Please check the video that I made for more details.

How to reproduce

  1. Create a new combo with the "Generic" type
  2. Check the "Sword" flag in the Triggered By tab
  3. Check the "Sound" flag under the Attributes 2 tab
  4. Set the SFX ID in the Attributes 1 tab
  5. Place and test the combo and you should find that the sound is not playing

I hope I provided enough information to iron this one out

Thanks in advance

Hey Jared,

Almost! I also have the continuous flag checked, like this: https://youtu.be/_df...fp1KCQjus?t=97

Wow, I tried it without the continuous flag and it works. Thanks Jared!

So I suppose the continuous flag is the faulty one here, but perhaps it's intentional.

As far as I understand it the purpose of the flag or combo type "continuous" is that if the next/undercombo is another slashable combo, that combo will also be effected by the current slash from Link. But I won't need that in my quest anyway, so this is perfect for me!

Ah, I see. You're welcome! I'm so glad it worked. :)
