Another Metroid 2 Remake demo version 1.4 has been released. You can now access Area 4, among some other bugfixes and minor features.

I'm surprised no one made a post of this yet, honestly, Given how close it is to completion, I expected some hype. Especially considering how it's almost perfect in how Samus handles. It feels like an official Metroid game, and has an exceptional amount of polish for a fan work. This game is to Metroid 2 as Zero Mission was to the original Metroid.

Expect to be thrown for a few loops, as there have been plenty of creative liberties taken to make SR388 a more interesting and deadlier world. It's crammed with as much atmosphere as you'd expect from a 2D Metroid game.

I've never gotten into Metroid 2, because of how archaic it felt. I'll be sure to give this a shot. I've become more interested in the metroid scene recently.

I've played a similar one but on an earlier version. It plays like Metroid Zero Mission.

I am at area 4 already. Can't wait to grab upgrades and beat "The Tester" (Damn, I thought I'd be fighting Ridley)

Considering how much of a Metroid fan he is, I'm surprised Eppy hasn't streamed one of these demos before. I played through part of 1.3, but didn't finish. When I have the time, I'll have to get around to trying the new version.

This new demo is the bomb, it's like a modernized sidescrolling metroid.

What did Porky Dimentio do?

... I uploaded the entire 1.4 soundtrack onto BrawlCustomMusic for you guys. This is where you submit music to be extended and displayed publically on BrawlBRSTMS3's channel. Entire soundtrack, right here. Took me 7 hours.

Played through it, loved it, even did a short LP of it.

I believe I heard Eppy say he's waiting for the full release so he can enjoy it blind right off the bat. So no spoilers to him!
