That's always a plus. Also I've noticed they've fixed "possible" bugs. Which would imply that there are increasingly less bugs to fix, but I may just be being too hopeful.
What will happen after 2.5 (and currently)

Are the devs still adding features to 2.5? A lot of people are making that accusation, but I have not actually known that to be true. I assumed that ended awhile ago.
It is dangerous to assume!! ..No I kid, I kid.
You got it right. No ones adding anything to it anymore. Scripting functions user-side don't count, and I don't know what to tell you about L and the large mode except that he's done now anyways.
Also keep in mind that not every minor bug that gets fixed is added to the changelog.
I think a good analogy for this would be in Ghostbusters where they have to choose the form of Gozer; The crazy guy chick thing says "It is chosen", and everyone's all like woah, woah, woah, wait a minute. "I didn't choose anything, did you choose anything?", "How about you, did you choose something Egon? See nobody chose anything." -And then a giant marshmallow man starts destroying the city.
So: Choose the form of 2.5.
