Poll: Map of the Month 86 (34 member(s) have cast votes)

86 is the chemical atomic number of the element Radon, which is a noble gas with a boiling point of -61.7C. It's atomic radius is approximately 134pm and it's relative atomic mass is roughly 222u. Anyways, which map if your favourite this month?

Welcome back to yet another Map of the Month! This time, we have 4 entries, so let's take a look at them...

Neptune

This all seems awfully familiar to me... hmmm...   :heh:

NewJourneysFire

This re-envision of the Tower of Hera features a much cooler theme than you'd expect.

ywkls

Prepare to get lost... again.

Dimentio

A scorched, ruined crypt... and a frozen shadow...

The other maps are quite nice, but Neptune's and NJF's are very nice!

It was VERY close; I *loved* Neptune's remake, but ultimately gave my vote to NJF for sheer variety in layout.

P.S. Is there a certain 'rapper' in that palace Neptune?  :awesome:

Eddy says Photobucket is cropping my image this way, I'll see what I can figure out.

Yeah, it was like this when I received the entry.

I guess this shows why Photobucket is pretty horrible to use when submitting :P

Edit: Thanks to NJF, his submission is now fixed and can be properly looked at.

Awww, Neptune's shot so reminds me of Souls of Wisdom 2's map. Now I want to cry. lol

Also, Dimentio's theme reminds me of my old Icy Lava dungeons I used to make back in the day. :P But his dungeon design is far superior to what mine was back then.

It's a draw between ywkls and NJF for me, but since I have troubles to see details on NJF's... Dementio has a great concept, but the tileset, the lava-color, smoke and icy billow kind of doesn't get me. Neptune's is very beautiful, but a bit too repetitive.

You sure you can't zoom in and see the image close up? I thought this issue has been resolved.

If I click it it zooms in a bit, ca. to the width of my screen. If i click again it zooms out to the previous size. Same for all 4 of them and was always like this for me.

Didn't vote since I'm in this one, so here's my thoughts on the others.

Neptune- This one is tied with NJF's for me.The entire area seems to flow together smoothly. I'm curious about whatever's hidden behind those mysterious T's...

Spoiler

NewJourneysFire- Very ice... I mean, nice! I wish I could see it more close up, though.

Dimentio- I'm not sure if I'm supposed to judge the map on the left or the right. The right one is much harder to see while the left one is a clear redesign of a dungeon from Zelda 1. Still, good.

May the best map win!

I went with Neptune. They're all good, but Neptune's is excellent. It had me at AoL.

For those who want to see my image in more detail, try right-clicking and download maybe? Because I'm able to zoom in just fine, and so is Eddy.

Or just click on the image and drag it to a new tab. That works, too.

Anyways, went with Neptune. Can't really say any specifics of why; all the shots are great, but Neptunes Z2 remake map just jumped out at me, the most.

The detail in NJF's won me over. Neptune's was awesome too. Since I'm working on a Z2 remake, seeing another interpretation of the Z2 overworld is really neat. Good job all around.

NJF wins it by a long shot for me. The others are good, but this one is really cool. Yeah, that happened. :D
