Okay, so I recently got my first non-flip phone, a simple bottom-of-the-line tracphone which has Android. I want to:

  1. Take a .txt file from my computer and put onto the phone's internal storage
  2. Open and edit that .txt file on the phone
  3. Copy that edited .txt file back onto my computer afterwards

Sounds simple enough. I thought there would be a program include with the phone that did this, but apparently not. I figured there would be something free and straightforward in the app store that I could figure out in a few minutes that did this... and now it's two weeks later and I still have no clue how to do this with any of the programs I've tried.

Does anyone personally know how to do this? What program to use, and how to use it to do that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm kind of like somebody's old grandma trying to use this phone.

I've used:

Quoda and Turbo-Editor, and would suggest the latter:

https://play.google....skyn.fileeditor

https://play.google....ythompson.quoda

I may be able to build T-E and strip out some clutter using an Android Emu on Windows.

Also, there is a good Pastebin app for Android. I use it for writing code on the go and putting it up for (later) access on my real computers.

P.S. This is new, but supposedly has no adverts:

https://play.google....ion.enlightened

T-E and Enlightened are both open source.

P.P.S. Android, has mire versions and flavours than I care to name. I still use 4.1. It'd be wise to post the exact model of mobile, and your Android OS version info, so that I can tell you if you will have issues with any of this stuff.
