Ideas for scripted boomerang?

I want an optional boomerang that takes the place of the Fire Boomerang (since I already have several other fire items). It could have a different elemtal effect or something completely different altogether. Ideas?
I typically script it to pick up keys.

I think it'd be cool to have it spin in place once it goes as far as it can, then you can reposition yourself before pressing the button again to call it back to you. That could make for some good puzzles, help pick things up, and even help with certain enemy situations.

How about one you can control sort of like the Magic Boomerang in Oracle of Seasons, or to an extent the DS Zelda titles. Cukeman's idea is nice too.

Perhaps a blade-boomerang that pierces through enemies.
