Isn't it something like a MIDI setting? I heard it randomly mutes itself. Check your Sound Settings.

Try "control panel->sound->advanced settings (or volume)->sw synth".

Strange bug: I'm saving a quest with RC3, but can't see the file in Windows Explorer but can see it from Zelda Classic. I can see the autosaves though. I'm on Windows 7.

EDIT- much more strange, I can't no more replicate the bug... ?

EDIT2- I think it has to do with the overwrite protection option, unchecked it, but can't overwrite?

It may well be. If you can pin down a problem, I'll take a look at it.

I isolated what the problem was and apparently Link can't swim out of walkable water when the drowning rule is disabled (I didn't try with it enabled. It's no problem for me, but it might cause compatibility issues with quests that don't have water tiles as unwalkable (like those made before water walkability made a difference)...

Hm. I don't think he's supposed to swim in walkable water at all without the rule enabled. Looks like that's not working quite right, though.
Actually, cold you make a demo for that? I'm not certain I'm seeing the same thing you are.

Also, hey, someone try this out. I want to know if I should keep working on it or not.

I have a dungeon with two DMaps set to the same level so that each floor has a different minimap,
but you only need to collect one map for both floors. I want to make it so that the compass marker
only flashes on one floor and not both, so I disabled the compass on one of the Dmaps, but it
had no effect. Is this a bug or just something that can't be done?

Instead of disabling the compass, use the DMap flag "Don't Display Compass Marker In Minimap."
It was a deliberate decision to make it work that way, but I don't know the reason.

Is it not possible to continue projects that you were making in RC2 in RC3?

I swapped to RC3 to stay current, but my game doesn't work in RC3 even though I didn't change anything. I opened my quest in RC3, did Save As and gave it a new name (just because I'm really careful about messing up my original).

When I play my quest in Zelda Classic, my original quest works great, but the new one that I saved in RC3 doesn't work. The quest starts on a black screen with random sprites everywhere and no music. I checked the Init Data to see if that somehow changed, but it didn't. Any help would be most appreciated!

EDIT:
I apologize! I figured out the problem. When I had downloaded RC3 the first time, and I ran RC3's zelda-w.exe in Fullscreen, the colors were off. So in my infinite wisdom, I decided to copy the zelda-w.exe from RC2 and place it in RC3 (because RC2 colors looked great in fullscreen).

I decided to re-download RC3 and try it, and not only did the color thing fix itself somehow, but the problem was solved!

There is one more thing that strikes me as a bit weird about zquest. When selecting multiple combos or using combo aliases it is possible to draw them beyond the edge of a screen(eg. only drawing half the combo alias or half of the multiple combos selected) but since the cursor is located in the upper left corner of those selections it is only possible to do so for right edge of the screen and for the left edge of the screen. Is there a way to symmetrize this problem by for example toggling between upper left cursor position and lower right cursor possition? or any option that allows to move the cursor outside the screen editor(probably difficult to do)?
Did anybody else realize this assymetry or am i the only one?

edit:
LinktheMaster solved that problem.

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, hitting the space bar moves which combo you're placing the alias in relation to.
