I know it's a bit late, but I wanted to voice 2 suggestions I had.

Firstly, I mentioned this in the chat and everyone else felt this was a good idea. In ZQ, could we move the Enemy box down a bit and place a box there that displays which combo flag you're currently on? That way we would know which flag we are on without having to constantly go through the list. (Speaking of the list, could you also get rid of the popup when you click to use the Combo Flags with the button? It's more annoying than useful unfortunately. I know by heart that the Flag #6 is the standard Bomb trigger.)

In addition to that, perhaps we could also have a small box we could click/double click on and then we could type a number in and it sets the currently combo flag to that one? I hate having to hit the keys 50 times when I place Flag #59 on one spot over to the side to get to flag #0. This way if I need a specific flag that I know by heart by now, I can type it in and be all set to use it.

Secondly, could we have a way to set the Item Dropsets a little better? By this I mean a way to control which dropset the Tall Grass, etc. all use. I currently would like to separate the Tall Grass dropset and the Slash combo dropset, but I can't as it is now.

I realized that a lot of features of zquest are not documented in "zquest.txt" especially features of the enemy editor(e.g. death attributes). Will those be documented later on?

When was the string deletion thing changed? Now we can't delete the strings, only clear them out. Is there a way we could have it switched back to the old method? Or maybe make it an option? It's a pain in the neck to have to set all of my frames and whatnot over and over when starting a new quest, instead of just having a single blank, preset string that I can duplicate. I guess I could still do it, but now I'm stuck with 80something strings that are inevitably blank and that I'll never use because I'd have to set the frames and whatnot. Personally, I see no good reason why it was changed in the first place.

How hard would it be to get an option to use the old method of string deletion?

There's an annoying colorful flash every few minutes in ZC. It kinda takes away from the experience. icon_sorry.gif Other than that, its great.

I found another bug. I have Combo 246 on the screen.
I didn't change it, so it's still a Damage 1/2 Heart cactus.

It was working fine, then when I played my quest file again later.
the cactus acted like it was an ordinary unwalkable combo.
It refused to damage Link.

I have no scripts in this quest.

EDIT: My bad. I forgot Link was wearing the boots, sorry.

so, what's with the inability to reach down? I can stab up and to the sides significantly further than I can stab down. enemies approaching from below are far more likely to be missed and end up colliding, do you know whay pettle?

Probably an NES fix that should of gotten a quest rule. :\

It would be better to know at either:
A) exactly what build this changes.
B) close estimate of pixel difference to the sword collision in 2.10 and earlier.

I'd go with four pixels, at least. what NES error should this "of" fixed? maybe it was too far of a reach before, but now it is too short. up is still crazy long. I can't imagine this fixed anything; it seems plain old wrong.

Not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention that it looks kind of odd when the same animated item
is seen on both subscreens and the animation doesn't synch up. For all I know, it might not be
worth fixing unless it's really easy.

Yet, I've got a feeling that this and several other bug reports have seemingly been completely ignored or forgotten about as of late, though for the time being, the NES Inconsistencies don't really matter. And to be clear, this bug I'm talking about is starting to get really annoying, yet nobody else has even tried to replicate it.
Also, in regards to the following topic:

There was a similar behavior with the Secret Money and Red Potion/Heart Container room types in 2.10 as well. This behavior has since been fixed for these two room types, so why not apply the same kind of fix to the door repair room type as well?

I hate to be the guy asking that but when will there be RC4(it has so many must have features(or is there any chance on a RC4 preview in the same way the RC3.1 was done?))?

It could probably do with some improvement. I was thinking we might recruit someone here to deal with that.

We had serious bugs with string deletion, and this was the fastest way to deal with them. Better to have some blank strings than to have assigned strings get messed up whenever you delete one.
We may try and make strings deletable again for 2.50.1, but it's not a high priority right now. I might see about adding copying and pasting to make reusing them easier, though.

That's something Windows does. The best we could do was make it a brief flash rather than permanent discoloration.
If it's happening every few minutes, I suspect there's some background process doing something. You could try stopping various processes before running the game.

_L_ hasn't been around lately to look at the latest Mac problems, but I think we're almost there aside from that.

As someone that does development for a different game engine for multiple OSes, I will advise that you either don't wait for _L_ or have a backup Mac person on hand. An engine release was waiting for Mac testing/confirmation, and the main Mac people either left Mac or had to use Windows for an extended period due to schooling. I was in the latter case. It set us behind by around a month or so.

I forgot if I was ever asked to help with this in the past or not. I can possibly help with some things...but I wish to propose another idea.

How about some of us do YouTube video tutorials instead? I think it will convey better than text.

I've noticed that "Text wraps around bounding box" does not always work.
Words are sometimes split in the middle of the word to continue on the next line.
And this doesn't show up in ZQuest, you only notice in Zelda Classic.

Hey guys. I read a few posts back that in RC3 the permanent discoloration that happens is only reduced to a flash. When? In my RC3, I get permanent discoloration, unless I use the ZC color fix bat file made by franpa. icon_confused.gif
