Voted for Joe because I like the design, and that it's a sideview Metroid quest.
Plus it's the only one that really interests me.

I went for jimmyb. Almost went for Nuvo, but the middle area seemed too flat and plain. icon_shrug.gif

I'm voting for jimmyb. Not just because of the nice tiles, but also because the screen has a great atmosphere. And lighthouses are fricken cool.

Ouch, JimmyB's has blown mine out of the sky.

Mine is pretty empty, isn't it. That's likely because all of the graphics I've currently drawn for it are pretty limited. Don't really have much to fill it with yet.

@Nuvo: It's not incredibly plain, but there's just some spots that could use something to make them look less boring.

MrMister: Don't worry, it happens to everybody sooner or later.

Time for through analysis - or, at the very least, my comments:

MrMister: Eh. There's nothing much really standing out. The path could do with being thinner, and the ground is a bit boring as it is right now.

jimmyb: Lighthouses are usually supposed to be on areas where there's danger of hitting rocks and such, and warn the boats of these dangers so they can avoid them. I don't understand why there's the lighthouse is in the middle of what appears to be some sort of town, where there's little chance of boats not seeing it and so ramming into the seawalls or something. Also, stuff that big benefits from being off-center: at the very least, move it upwards a bit, so that it doesn't split the screen in two.

Joe123: It's a bit plain, but since it's M1 it suits the style of the game and tiles very well. Are those Zoomers scripted?

Nuvo: It's a bit plain in the middle, but the rest of the tiles look rather nice.

I really like the way Nuvo's is laid out. It is also good to see a Metroid quest in the works again.

I voted for jimmyb. I like the idea of the lighthouse, and it looks really good to me. I was also going to vote for Nuvo, but I only get one vote. icon_frown.gif Great work everyone. icon_biggrin.gif

I null'd. I think I would have gone with Nuvo had I not been in it, his shot looks great, even if it is grayscale monochromatic.
