UPDATE: The completed quest is available on the PureZC Database! It can also be found mirrored on the ZeldaClassic.com database.

Thank you for your interest!

---- Completed so far:
- Everything else
- Character-switching mechanics
- 36 active item slots, almost all involve new scripting; also a few new passive items
- Lots of custom scripted enemies and a boss and miniboss for every planned dungeon
- 17 dungeons out of 18 planned (7 are based heavily on Zelda II)
- 2 overworlds (the second is a full recreation of Hyrule from Zelda II, plus some islands)
- Several small special areas, including random encounter areas in ZII Hyrule
- Title screen and most of the few short cutscenes (the plot is very simple with sparse dialogue)
- A trading sequence
- 5 scripted minigames
- A mode menu to adjust difficulty factors, controls, and more
- Secret alternate way to start out the quest, keeping your starting inventory that's full of items from Zelda 1 and 2 (normally these items are stolen in the opening cutscene)

--- Play as Link and as Zelda:
- Switch characters to wield different weapons and use 10 items differently!
- Your partner can help you fight side-by-side!
- Separate to solve puzzles, or dodge/flank enemies!

---- List of items:
(sorted by resemblance, not origin. All items are complete, except some stuff about the Flute)
- AOL: Handy Glove, Water Boots, Life Spell, "Guard" Spell, Spell Spell, Fairy Spell, Downward Thrust (stomp boots + bounce)
- LTTP: Cane of Somaria, Book of Somaria (shoot 4 blasts), Bug-catching Net & Bee, Horse Call (works like Pegasus Boots), Magic Powder, Magic Cape, Lift-and-Throw Power Bracelet, Throwable Bombs (and bait)
- BS Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets: Ancient Stone Tablet (Dash upgrade)
- LA: Shield Push, Bow-wow, Secret Seashells, Guardian Acorn, Piece of Power, Life Dolls (and Dollhouse containers)
- OOT: Moving Bombchus, Playable by-note Flute, Fire Mail, Water Mail, Holes-and-spikes-only Hover Boots, Magic Beans
- OOS/OOA: Roc's Cape, Magnet, Switch Hookshot, Big Sword, Shovel
- WW: Parachute Leaf
- TP: Spinner, Magic Rod animates statues to follow you, Ball and Chain
- PH: Cursor Fairy
- SS: Beetle
- Super Mario Land: Superball Shooter
- New stuff: Climbing Rope, Bola, Aquamentus Staff, Anchor, Book of Mudora (shows enemy names), Sail, Punch Glove, Jalapeno & Habanero Peppers (bait upgrades), Candleabra, Variable-distance Boomerang, Double Boomerang, Triple Fire Boomerang, B-Button Ladder, Throwing Spinner, Magic-Turning Rod, Wraparound Hookshot

Semi-nonlinear dungeon order:
- Calatia:
Any of 1-4
Any of 5-8
Level 9
- Hyrule:
Level 10
Any of 11-17 (14-17 aren't done)
Level 18 (not done)

--- Curtailed story synopsis:
A year after the events of Zelda II, the Hero Link and Princess Zelda (from Zelda 1) team up to save Calatia from the Fire Warrior Militron, but then must return to Hyrule to break a curse on the recently-crowned Queen Zelda (from Zelda II) and save Hyrule. Basically, it's an excuse plot that tries to keep a NES-style serious tone with very little dialogue and some deliberately erroneous English.

--- To do:
- 5 remaining dungeons (4 will be based on Zelda II, and then the final dungeon)
- Various small special areas, including some additional battle areas (mostly in East Hyrule)
- Town areas in Hyrule, with storefronts to actually access the minigames, a few more bits of NPC advice and shops, and a couple extra bits of the trading sequence for a bonus item
- Better uses of the playable Flute item, maybe designing a new warp shortcut system for it, and setting up the "known songs" list function
- Fine tuning the final boss; it works, but I don't fully like it
- Ending scenes, end credits
- Properly setting up the secret "start with a bunch of items" mode to have a slightly alternate plot, skipping a couple events and enabling the player to go straight back to Hyrule at the start
- Recruiting people (besides just myself) to bugtest / playtest before release

I haven't decided whether or not to release a demo at this time, but leave a comment or PM if you would like to beta-test.

Special thanks to:

The creators/editors of PureZC's ZScript documentation, the Shardstorm ZCWiki, STD_CONSTANTS and STD_FUNCTIONS.

justin on the PureZC forums for telling me how to use "For" loops- that was vital!

Aevin: creator of the quest "The Hero's Memory", for the Girubokku enemy editor idea
TeamUDF: for LPing "The Hero's Memory", which is how I saw that

MeleeWizard: For LPing various ZC quests, which rekindled my interest in the program a few years ago

All scripts were newly made for this quest by me (Mitsukara). I reinvented the wheel many times self-teaching scripting, because I got more into doing that than actually socializing or learning how to use other people's scripts '>> So even things like the Cane of Somaria are newly-made versions.
All other custom tiles are either default tileset, taken from Zelda II, or custom-made by me.
