Hi I just discovered the greatness of ZC last week and have been busy building bookmarks and resources for my 1st quest.  So I guess it's common I run into alot of questions with such a big program.

So basically I would like to set a key or button for the purpose of triggering an Item Toggle during regular play.  This will switch between the inventory's action-based items when pressed and set it to the secondary Item slot of the passive subscreen for faster, easier item access.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this, or if there is already a tutorial/script that enables such a feature.  Thanks!

If that's not what you're talking about, then I don't know. It sounds like you want a button that assigns certain weapons to either A or B without going into the subscreen.

If you don't have the "Can Select A Button Item" rule checked, then L and R will cycle through the B button item, so you don't have to waste time opening the subscreen. However, if you do have the rule checked (which allows you to assign items other than swords to the A button), you can't use L and R to toggle (unless you take the time to script it). So personally, I'd suggest leaving the sword attached to the A button, as I love the convenience of using L and R. But that's just me. A lot of people like having two non-sword items in use at once, so it's just a matter of opinion.

Yes L and R is what I was hoping for.

Thanks that's exactly what I wanted to do!  I haven't even browsed through the Editor yet but man this thing has a lot of great features from what I have read so far.  Problem solved, thanks Russ.
