I mainly got involved with ZC due to Marco's contest from last year. Is he still around? Can we get something like that together again? A lot of fun stuff came out of that.

That was never an official thing; just something he decided to do. I don't know how active he is these days, but you're more than welcome to organize a new summer quest competition.

You should totally host one. I'd love to participate in another two week contest; in fact, I already have some plans rolling around in my head for a quest. I made a few screens already just to give myself an idea of what it'd look like, but I'd gladly give myself a day handicap or something. Heck, I could help you organize a contest, if you wanted. We really need more of these contests. Great ideas tend to come out of them.

I'd love to host something, but I don't think I have the time or ability. I was thinking we could impose some limits like 1 map (with layers on different maps, of course) in terms of space, and two weeks with 3 dungeons. It could kick off in mid-July sometime. With the newer site, all we'd have to have is a topic linking to the various quest projects, and maybe a vote on a 'theme', kind of like a normal game jam. It took me almost a week to even check back on this post, so if anyone wants to help me out it could work. I'm open to suggestions and ideas. Would starting July 15th to August 1st be enough time to plan the event?

I'm definitely interested in entering one of these competitions as well. Never have, and I'd like to actually use 2.5 for once.

If you don't have enough time Pete, I'll gladly help out. Heck, we could even host it in Underneath the Armos, like how the original two week contest way back when was hosted in P4d. Sometime in July sounds like a good starting time; it'd give people enough time to plan out what they're doing. I don't think putting restrictions on it is a good idea though; two weeks is already restriction enough. Having done one of these contests before, I can tell you, it ain't easy, and that turns away a lot of people as is.. Let's not arbitrarily make it tougher.

Marco hasn't seemed to been in Pure for about a month after his ban was lifted. Maybe he needed some time off or went on a new venture. Either way, it would be a good idea to try and contact him if you want to do this and maybe he will join. Ask 'em.
I'd guess he ran off to grasscity or rollitup. Jajaja I'm so funny. Back to serious, I doubt he'd have much interest in doing this considering he hasn't been around since March. Feel free to try reaching out to him, but I wouldn't wait up for him before starting.

I'll send Marco a message and just see if he responds. In the meantime, Russ and I can work out a plan.

The only restrictions I want to see are:
1. two weeks
2. make a quest in zc
I'd participate ![]()

Agreed. These conditions are hard enough to meet if you're planning on releasing something actually worth playing. No need to make it even harder for people to get something in. More restrictions=less entries or worse, not enough entries.

I don't know. A theme might be nice, even if it's not a hard requirement.
