So it's been over five years since I've last touched ZQuest, I think. Maybe even longer. And I'm slowly remembering how to do stuff with this very user unfriendly program, but either things have changed dramatically from the version 1.Whatever that I used to use and the current 2.50 or I just don't remember any longer.

I've designed an original LoZ styled "third quest" sort of thing and my Whistle Warps are all messed up and not going to dungeon entrances at all. I thought I set those up in a menu called Whistle Warps in Misc Data or something like that, but I can't find it anywhere. :/

Also, when using the whistle to "dry up" a lake and make a staircase appear, it doesn't change the tiles (the lake stays blue) but it does change the combos I think because now the player can walk on the lake and the staircase appears. I'm probably just forgetting to something super easy and obvious because it's been so long since I've used the program. :P Help, please. :D

Misc. Data --> Warp RIngs, whistle uses number 8 by default, and I think you need to select the "Whistle->Palette change" option is the screen data for the second one.

Welcome to the strange new world that is 2.5. Your old laws do not apply here. YOUR OLD LAWS DO NOT APPLY HERE! :gonk:

A lot of stuff has changed between 1.90 and 2.5. Fortunately, local godmods Link and NicktheMaster Nick and LinktheMaster have blessed us with the gift of a 2.5 tutorial. Huzzah!

Actually, it looks like I have all three checked on that screen (Whistle > Stairs, Whistle > Palette Change, Whistle > Dry Lake) yet the lake stays blue...? Should I uncheck any any of those three?

EDIT: I tried unchecking/checking all possible combinations of those three checkboxes and no matter what, the lake stays blue.

I believe the lakes will only change palettes if they are a specific cset, some csets will remain the same.

Ah ha! Yes, it turns out it has to be cset 3 in the classic tiles (the one with the brown dots in the water instead of the green ones). Thanks!
