No matter what, every time I try to compile my ZScript, and it compiles properly and I click the "Assign Slots" button, I get the error message "Unable to create temporary file in current directory!", instead of "Slots successfully saved".

It never did this before, and now for no reason it does this every time, even if I remove certain scripts or add them again (I tried different combinations). It compiles fine, but after that, wham.

What the heck.

Someone know what to do about this? I'm using b1296.

EDIT: I discovered my problem. Nobody would have ever guessed it.

It was my Anti-Virus software. My Anti-Virus software BROKE ZQUEST. It kept thinking "malicious software" was writing to my hard drive so it was silently preventing ZQuest from storing my ZScript in a temporary file (and thus, working) without even telling me.

This is the last time AVG will ever hear from me. Ever. I've switched to Avira.

God dammit, I will be fuming about this for weeks.

I have AVG. For some reason, it thinks that ZQuest and ZC are malware, thats if I don't use Zlauncher to open it. I have a problem with the LI build where I try to play it (there is no Zlauncher packaged with it), AVG comes in and tells me that it's malware. I never had your problem where it breaks scripting.

You might have been using a different version of AVG than me, then, because it's true I've never seen AVG look so fancy when I installed it on my new laptop here. The older version I used to use probably didn't check folders in real-time, and this one did. Something of that sort.

I just wanted to jump in here and confirm this for posterity...

 

AVG was giving me the same problem, but it was easily fixed by creating and exception for my ZC folder.
