Not really a fan of Metroid (haven't played anything outside Super which was fun) but that's pretty neat stuff, ywkls. Keep it up!

Not really looking for critique. Just a preview of what's to come in Rite of the Storm's next update. This is one of the changes.

Protagonist looks too gray, make him more colourful.
Too many flames, looks like it will lag.
Machinery doesn't belong in Zelda.
Why can't you steal rupees from the minecarts? Pretty shitty mechanic IMO.
Why are the flames laughing at me? That's insulting.
Orange isn't the new black, stop using it.
Looks unfun to play.
Too many overused mechanics.

Overall, about a 3/10. I expected better from you, Shane.

You forgot the part where the screen is nothing special.

 

Either way pretty nice screens so far. I really like the factory setting in Shane's shot, looks very nicely made.

 

Orithan's FYS shot looks pretty nice too. Is that custom made or did you rip that from somewhere? The walls seem to fit pretty nicely with the tileset.

The entire dungeon set is custom and nearly everything made in it was made from scratch, with some direct references.

And yes, this is going to be used in Enemy of the Month.

I'm close to getting this update done.

These areas you've been showing recently (both this and the latest SotW entry) are looking very impressive. The large structures really make the screens look like a different game entirely. I like the glass streaks layered on top of the character as well.

Now that you mention it, I suppose those stray brown leaves really do look like turds.

I think the first screen needs some more work it feels off to me. The second one I'm pretty happy with. Still no idea what I'm doing with these though. I might be building something in my spare time. Then again who knows, lol.

The water looks unnatural. I'd suggest extending it downwards, off the screen, if possible. I would also suggest changing the mountain and water border where they meet (leftwards of the waterfall) into their respective land borders.

I'll have to agree with TheBlueTopay'za on the water looking unnatural. I seems a bit too squarish. In the second screen, there is a lot of green going on in it, not sure I like that. Good screens overall though, just seem to need a little tweaking to be just right.
