Over Christmas weekend, Carrie Fischer had a heart attack on the way to Los Angeles and was hospitalized. Despite being classified as in stable condition just days ago, today she succumbed to the aftereffects.

Carrie is survived by her daughter, mother, brother and two half-sisters. 

while the exact details of the complications are unknown at this time, Carrie wished it be said of her demise that she "drowned in moonlight, strangled by her own bra."

In addition to her role as Princess Leia Organa/Skywalker, Carrie made a heroic name for herself in real life by destigmatizing mental illness and drug addiction. 

she was 60 years old.
