The game is finally out on Android, which was originally supposed to be tomorrow, but they dropped it a day early as a present. It actually works on my older phone, with only a few hitches, so that's nice. Makes me wonder why Fire Emblem Heroes crashes all the time... Anyway, I only played the free trial and it's... fine. I'd play the full game, though I don't know how I feel about ten dollars for playing the full game just yet is the thing. I'm tempted to wait for a sale and then just do the challenges I can do in the meantime. Definitely takes me a bit to get used to, it doesn't feel much like typical Mario games, though that's the point. But again, dunno how I feel about dropping ten dollars on it yet. Might need some convincing for that.
The one annoyance I had was the game forcing me to go through all the modes in its tutorial instead of just letting me explore the menu at my leisure, or at least being asked if I wanted a tour. I'd complain less if it didn't make me play Toad Rally, but still. Maybe Breath of the Wild spoiled me on not having annoying tutorials.
Random note: Missed opportunity, using the NSMB music instead of a remix of the classic tune. This is probably a lot of kids' introduction to Mario, so they should've given them the theme many of us grew up on as well.
