Make Link drown when hitbox is half way inside water combo?

Is there a way to make Link go into his drowning state when his hitbox is half way inside water combo?'

kinda like what happens in the gb games

Not without scripting, but you could fake it by just offsetting the water edge so the actual graphic for the edge is half water, half ground, but make it a water combo. That way, when Link steps on it, it will seem like he's falling in the very edge. This is a lot of tile work though, and it might be easier to ask someone to script it for you.

the problem with that is 1 wide or 1 high tiles like bridges 

how would i do it with scripting?

That, I don't know. It would probably be a global script, and be something similar to the hole/ lava script. Sorry I'm not much help here.

And yeah, that's what I mean by creating a lot of work with editing the water tiles, and other graphics that interact with water.

You may be able to manually set Link->Action = LA_DROWNING.
