I didn't expect much when trying chocolate almond milk, but it was quite good. As for coconut milk and coconut water it just depends, I've had delicious and nasty examples of both.

I have lactose intolerance so I don't like milk all that much.

You should really be more accepting.

(joking of course, but I couldn't resist. I was waiting for someone to say it :P)

I remember that milk in the US somehow tasted a lot different than it tastes in Europe. I have no idea what you do to your milk or cows but you need to stop it. :S

There's no such thing as almond milk because there's no almond titties people! (~Lewis Black)

We feed our cows agricultural waste and inject them regularly with hormones and antibiotics, then we homogenize the milk so people cannot digest it properly so it becomes bad for them. We do this because we want our children, specifically 11-year old girls, to grow big boobies at a much earlier age then what mother nature would achieve normally. I think we're doing a pretty good job if you ask me. :D

I love me some deep-fried agricultural waste, and my boobs look fantastic.

No, but real question: Why are we the only species that drinks another species' milk? Humans aren't really supposed to have milk after a certain time, let alone another species milk. :P

Because animals would have to actually suckle the other animals. Also iirc sometimes people will use foster mothers for animals that are another species.

I'm lactose intolerant and I'm super allergic to soy products. As a result, I tend to drink almond milk.

But I worked as a barista for a long time and whole milk smells weird, friends. Be honest with yourselves. You can't hide from this forever.

Since we're taking this topic seriously now, I think all forms of pasteurized milk taste criminally bland. Get me some of that fresh black-market unpasteurized or get the hell out of my face.

I'm ever so slightly lactose intolerant. Milk doesn't make me violently ill or anything, but I get the farts super bad. I drink coffee black and tend to not eat a whole lot of cereal, so I'm not too bothered by not drinking a whole lot of milk. I prefer whole over skim, but meh.

Cheese on the other hand, is my jam. All kinds of fuckin' cheese.

I drink 1% cuz I have a roommate who gets sick at anything higher than that but skim is fuckin fake water milk bullshit.

Whole just tastes kind of overly rich and sweet, like you're drinking a milkshake or something.

Almond milk is cool, but I don't actually drink milk on its own all that often and that's really the only way I can tolerate almond milk.

I'm taking this thread seriously, sorry

I'm not sure how I missed and failed to reply to this thread until now, but hopefully 2 months isn't gravedigging.

I live in the united states and drink milk extremely often. I've never been to a dairy farm, but my maternal great-grandfather and his family owned one, which might be relevant.

I prefer whole or 2% (I think 2% tastes slightly better, but when the budget is tight I get whole because they cost the same and if i'm getting less overall, I might as well get the denser kind); 1% tastes a little gross and skim is bleh, but I will still consume both in enough of a pinch. I really like to have milk on a daily basis if I can.

I've only poked at alternative milks a little bit, but honestly I have yet to find one that has the qualities I'm really looking for in milk. Flavorings like chocolate or strawberry are fine, but that's true with a lot of things, and I only occasionally crave chocolate milk, not routinely.

Contrary to most people I seem to get less of a stomachache by drinking the stuff, and more if I go without. But I also have bad reactions to acid-heavy foods like citrus fruit or too much tomatoes, soft drinks (full of carbonated acid), and things like that, which milk (and sometimes crackers, or tums in a pinch) seem to help offset, so I think my entire digestive system leans towards wanting me to drink tons of alkali.

That said: I feel very bad about the questionable nature of the dairy industry and wish for alternatives. The same applies to any meat I eat. I wish we'd hurry up and make standardized consumer vat/clone meat, I would be all over that. Not sure if the same principles could as easily be applied to milk production, but I'm sure there's some way to do it...

But for now, I respect anyone who can refrain, but I haven't had good experiences doing so. I'm definitely open to experimenting with weird milk substitutes, but foregoing the real thing is hard for me. (Same for cheese.)

As for goofy claims... my breast size is left wanting, but I think that might be, shall we say, a hormonal problem. I'd classify them as being somewhere between Mahoro Andou (from Mahoromatic) and Fisheye (from Sailor Moon).

No, but real question: Why are we the only species that drinks another species' milk? Humans aren't really supposed to have milk after a certain time, let alone another species milk. :P

Why are we the only species that builds computers, harnesses electricity systematically, and have industry? We try all kinds of crazy complicated stuff.
