After hearing the music in Hyrule Castle, I just knew I wanted to use it in a quest at some point. Unfortunately, I've found it quite difficult to find midis from newer games, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. A week later, after listening sections of the piece over and over. both original and arranged, I finally managed to put together a midi of it!

By the way, writing in 5/4 is difficult as hell.

Do give me thoughts on how to improve it!

Edit:
If you import it into ZC, the loop start is 41 and leave the end at the default. It's set up to loop, so the ending is abrupt.

Edit 2:

I felt a little dissatisfied with this, so I went and rewrote the whole midi entirely. I updated the download link to the new version.

It's done really well, actually! Can't really think of ways to improve it, but then I'm not really a composer. :P

I'm not familiar with the source music, so the only comment I have here is the mix. Your leads are utterly blaring.

Most of the piece sounds quite nice, rather relaxing in a somber sort of manner, but the horns from hell blow all that away at the end.

At least, they sound like horns. The MIDI crashes my editor when I try to open it, so I can't check for sure.

Other than that, I like it, and the usage of dull-sounding instruments compliments the mood of the piece very well.

By the way, writing in 5/4 is difficult as hell.

What else would you expect from Isengard time?

I just noticed this, actually. For whatever reason, I accidentally set the volume of the leads to be 33% louder than they were for the rest of the song. I'm already fixing that and will update the download link.

I know you didn't ask for it, but I used your MIDI in a cover.  I had been looking for a MIDI of this for a fair bit, not too long.  I hope you like it.

Thank you for this. I know the feeling, as years back I made an orchestral MIDI of OoT's 'Temple of Time' chant, which is sadly likely lost to time. Even then, converting game music to MIDI was a right pain.

Okay, I know it's odd for the creator to ask something like this, but it anyone else having the midi glitch out after looping in ZC?

I went back and entirely rewrote the midi from the ground up, improving the B-section and fixing the odd looping problem. I'd say it sounds hella more accurate, as well. I updated the download link in the initial post.

I believe I prefer the first upload for some reason, it has a better feeling to it for me.

You should also do the inside hyrule castle version.
