Random plug: I have death anim ffcs in the Link's Awakening header (in my signature), that you can steal, and reconfigure. They are based on enemy lists (normal, mid_boss, boss, final_boss), so that you can define special death explosions for different enemy types.

Grab the demo file if you want to see how they work.

The explosions are ffc controlled, and can either be placed, or run from a global script (the intended method). There are also some global functions to do a similar effect, although that requires running a timer array, so the ffcs are generaly easier.

Setup is easy to meoderate, and configurability is rather high.

If you want to try it, I could use, and would appreciate user feedback. I'll provide user-end support, as needed.

Just how many phases are there? If you wanted, you could just create multiple instances of this FFC script, one for each phase. Otherwise..

 

 

18 phases, but this makes it much simpler, and would make it helpful to do other enemies too.
