I wonder if some of the more technical savvy people can help me with my OBS.

Here's the situation.

I own a iMac, and run windows 7 through an emulation software called Parallels Desktop.

I have OBS installed on both the Mac part of my computer and the Windows part of my computer.  Upon original install of OBS, the internal mic of my iMac was picked up by both copies of the OBS software.

However, since installing the latest update of OBS (17.0.2) on the windows side, the mic bar at the bottom of my screen isn't moving at all. Ive tried uninstalling the software, and re-installing it. Still no joy. Had a look online for people experiencing similar problems... still won't work.

Any ideas what I can do to get the mic working on the windows side? Funnily enough, it still works as it should on the mac side...

EDIT:

Nevermind! Fixed it.

For those of you who are curious:

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices > Recording tab > Select microphone > Levels > Make sure microphone is at 100%. Job Done!

I intentionally installed 17.0.0, the stock edition, with a standard installer package. I try not to run the latest versions of software such as this, as I would rather not push me luck with running anything too new. If it works, I tend not to update it, as the risk of it breaking when developers add things that I do not need that use up system resources, or change the interface with no option to use the old interface; or similar, is just too great.

The present trend always seems to be, cram in changes that cripple performance, and make drastic UI changes with no thought to the userbase, for many programmes. I may download the OBS source at some point, and see if I can make any changes that benefit my (particularly light) use, but that's a rather low priority, although it may give me a better understanding of how I am intended to use the UI and hotkeys.

Does anyone know off-hand how to set up fade, transition, pause, resume, and similar hoteys on Windows, and if these use a fixed modifier key of some sort? Are they macros, or merely keypresses?

I run my capture card (composite cables) through OBS, and although everything works great in the card's native software, in OBS the sound is delayed by about half a second. It's a little annoying,  but the only advice I can find says to delay the video by as much time. That would work fine if I didn't need OBS's screen to see what I was doing!!

and no, viewing with the native software isn't an option. It refuses to cooperate if something else is already using the card.

For the record the native is called Arcsoft Showbiz. Apparently it is identical to Hauppage HD PVR2.
