Recently, we have had some problems with how members react to staff notices in topics. Sometimes, the notices are overlooked or disregarded. In other cases, they are questioned in the thread itself. With this in mind, there's a few points we would ask members to remember.

  • Don't disregard staff notices. From now on, we will be implementing colored text for the opening sentences of moderation notices to ensure they're not overlooked. If you see this colored text, be sure to read the notices and follow the instructions. However, even if colored text is not used, you're still responsible for reading and obeying these notices. Failure to follow staff instructions will be met with warnings.
  • Contact the staff privately if you have an issue with how we handle things. We are not infallible. We know there are times when members may disagree with our decisions. There may even be times when we will reverse decisions based on new information or other factors. However, arguing with staff notices in the thread is not acceptable and may result in a warning. Use the Staff Dropbox or PM system if you want to discuss the situation.
  • The staff handles punishments. Don't call out members for rule-breaking behavior or other problems. Instead, use the report system. However, please keep in mind that reports take time to resolve. Don't assume we're doing nothing or take matters into your own hands because you haven't heard back within an hour. We will reply to you when a decision has been reached.
  • Moderation is handled in private. Don't assume we're ignoring an issue if a member hasn't been scolded in public; that's not how we do things. You should also keep in mind that we may have additional information you're not aware of. If it looks like we're not acting on something you think we should, we might have a good reason. However, please report it if you think it's something we've overlooked.

Many of these points are already covered in the Site and Forum Rules, so you can find more information there. Thank you for your help in making PureZC a welcoming and comfortable place for everyone.
