I have absolutely no idea where to begin. Where do I write these scripts and how do I get ZC to run them?

You can write them in ZQuest. Go to tools -> Scripts -> Compile ZScript and then press Edit. The rest is now actually knowing the code and what to code, which I can't help you with. I'm not a very good teacher

If you want to do ZASM scripts, then I don't know what to tell you.
