So for whatever reason when I get the map when the DMap type is Overworld it doesn't change the maps thing to make the map look different. I have no idea why it does this. I could technically just make the map look the way I want it to before you get the map, but I really would like it to look like that after you get the map.

Does anyone know how to do this? Or does it need a script?

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, the issue is that Dungeon Maps don't work on overworld DMaps. I don't know if this can be fixed with a script, other than manually drawing the new map over the old one, and that would disappear any time you bring up the active subscreen.

I figured that it would need a script. It's a shame that a Overworld DMap that the with map doesn't work. Oh well...

EDIT: I am going to do it without scripts. This should be fun.

Could you use "interior" maps? The wiki does not specify, but iirc, interior d-maps behave the same as OWs but are 8x8 instead of 8x16 screens, but maps and compasses work.

EDIT: I wish I could edit the wiki and add in which d-map types allow for the map to work. Oh well.

I would, but I already made the maps and they don't fit in a 8x8 sadly.

If your entire OW is one 16x8 d-map, then yeah, but if you are using different d-maps for different areas in the OW, then this could work, as long as they are less than 8x8.

Couldn't you make two different DMaps and make one for one half of the dungeon and the other for the other half? Then set up a sidewarp to switch DMaps when you cross from one half of the dungeon to the other?

Make both DMaps dungeon type, and I would say you should be able to do it that way. Even though it would mean splitting the map in half.

Or of course, you could do your idea and just make your own map.

I could, but I rather it be one DMap.
