Hi there! Name's MidiGuyDP! How's everyone here? ^^

I wanted to introduce myself and wanted to announce a little something that I've been wanting to post about for a while. :)

2 friends (kman2495 & MajorasAura) and myself have a Youtube channel called TriForceVS, where we race each other in games and you can see all of our screens and listen to our commentary, so let's play, but with racing ;)

Have a look if you're interested: https://www.youtube....user/TriforceVS

So anyway I've been having this idea floating in my head for a while now and have bee wanting to post about it here:

Zelda Classic TriForceVS!!

So basically what I wanna do here, is have myself, Aura & kman race some custom quests made by you! BLIND! Since I've been etching to do some more fan made content races with the guys, and figured since we still haven't race Zelda 1, perhaps this is how we could do it instead.

So this is what I was planning. In order for us to play lot's of different games, we were planning to play each game that would be submitted for 45 minutes, then pause the game to see what items are collected. Then who ever has the most items, that's how the winner of that game would be decided. The reason we say we'd just do each game for 45 minutes, that would basically allows to play a lot of different games.

And currently how the scores would be calculated would be like this:

1st Priority: End of Dungeon Items (Triforce Pieces, Pendants etc.)
2nd Priority: Gear (Hookshot, Bow & Arrow, Boomerang etc.)

3rd Priority: Hearts (Heart Pieces, Containers)

4th Priority: Rupees

So if the 1st priority is a tie (For instance we all have 2 triforce pieces), then we check the 2nd priority, and so on. If all 4 are tied, then it's a tie ^^

So then, with all that out of the way, let's get to the level submiting part shall we? ^^

If you want to submit a quest do so in this form:

Name of Quest:

Version of ZC:

Estimated Blind Player Length:

Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site):

Image of your quest logo (We'll put it on the background):

Also, for every "Season" we were thinking of doing, we wanna set a "Queue Limit", which for this one will be 7 quests. So once 7 quests are submitted (First come, first serve) then we'll close the queue until the season is completely done and released.

Which we have no set schedule for, since we prefer to do stuff at our own pace, and we got lots of other projects going on too ;)

So then, here's the list of submitted Quests for Season 1 (Total changed to 7 for various reasons):

1.The Hero of Dreams - By Shoelace (Released)

2.Royal darkness - By jman9001 (Released)

3.New Legend of Zelda - First Quest - By Matthew Bluefox (Released)

4.Myrule - By Avataro (Released)

5.TLOZ: Flashback - By Eddy (Released)

6.Freedom in Chains - By Moosh (Released)

7.The Third Legacy - by Lüt (Released)

((I never did keep this page up to date X-x))

If this kicks off really well and we get into it a lot, we may consider doing more in the next season. But for now, we'll see how this turns out! ;)

So then, I think that's it for now. So if anyone wants to see their game raced for 45 minutes, submit it (Using the form above) and we'll try it out!

So till next post, take care all!!! :D

I always wanted to do this.  45 minutes, interesting concept.  I'd like to see it, lol:

Name of Quest: The Hero of Dreams

Version of ZC: 2.10

Estimated Blind Player Length: 18-22 hours

Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site): http://www.purezc.ne...e=quests&id=139

I would say my quest would definitly fit the bill for this VS, since it has alot to collect and pretty fun to play.

Name of Quest: Royal darkness

Version of ZC: 2.50.2

Estimated Blind Player Length: depends on completion 5-6 hours

Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site): http://www.purezc.ne...e=quests&id=515

This is a really cool idea and I'll be sure to check it out. Unfortunately, I don't think anything of mine will work particularly well with this format. I make a lot of linear quests (hard to measure progress on such a tight time limit when much of the world is closed off to you) and most of them aren't even remotely Zelda. But I'll be looking forward to seeing you play some other people's quests.

Name of Quest: New Legend of Zelda - First Quest

Version of ZC: 2.50.2

Estimated Blind Player Length: 4 Hours (mainly due to it being close to the NES 1st Quest)

Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site): http://www.purezc.ne...e=quests&id=584

Image of your quest logo (We'll put it on the background): None (maybe the NES original LOZ logo would be adequate)

Additional Info: The link contains the whole quest pack, so you can choose which quest you wish to play. If you wish to play the first, use the file NLOZ1.qst ... thank you. :)

This is a great idea. Playing only 45 minutes allows you to play many different quests which is good. I'll be sure to watch these.

I'll submit my quest, I think it's great for a race. I actually made a logo just so I could submit this xD

Name of Quest: Myrule
Version of ZC: 2.50 and above
Estimated Blind Player Length: Between 1 and 2 hours
Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site): http://www.purezc.ne...e=quests&id=473
Image of your quest logo (We'll put it on the background): http://i.imgur.com/4Fmznhi.png

This sounds like a very cool idea actually. I'll definitely be up to watching some of these.

I'll go ahead and submit a more simple one of mine that I've finished a while back:

Name of Quest: TLoZ: Flashback

Version of ZC: 2.50

Estimated Blind Player Length: About 2 hours (I think)

Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site): http://www.purezc.ne...e=quests&id=363

Image of your quest logo (We'll put it on the background): I don't really have a quest logo, but I guess this random overworld shot could work lol.

Looking forward to seeing how this will go and good luck to you guys :D

(was actually gonna consider my Mega Man quest, but that might not go down too well... same can be said for the Sonic/Zelda crossover quests I have... which are also pretty bad)

Wow! Thanks for your submissions everyone! That was fast! O.o

Also Moosh, even if it's linear, I'm sure it would work fine for our VS anyway, I mean, if the first item is super far away (Just assuming here lol) and it winds up being a rupee race or something like that, that's ok. ;)

One spot left! :D

EDIT: Two spots left!!

The guys and I decided to change the limit to 7 rather than 6, for various reasons. One being the rate of submission (We did not expect it to be so fast). Another is, 7 sages! So seven felt like a good number, and also there's lesss chance of ties throught the season as a whole. ;)

Will you be doing one video per quest? Or do you split them into 2 parts.

And yeah, I'd like to see a Moosh quest.

We'll most likely have each quest's 45 minute run on a single video.

We've had longer episodes on our channel, so it should be fine ;)

And yeah, I'd like to see a Moosh quest.

I vote for Brock Lesnar. It's not very zelda-y and wasn't exactly designed for a wider audience, but it's rather short and well suited to this sort of competition, I think.

For Moosh Quests, I vote Freedom in Chains, by Moosh (Because it's very nonlinear).

http://www.purezc.ne...showtopic=67965

(I do not own Moosh's Quests, for I am not Moosh. Do not confuse me with Moosh. Call your local Pharmasave should you ever have these delusions)

Or you could try HeroOfFire's randomizer quests, as those seem like they'd lend well to this racing format (many dungeons, many items to collect). I really recommend BS, as that was the one I had the most enjoyment with.

http://www.purezc.ne...e=quests&id=513

(Again, do not own. This quest was created by HeroOfFire. I, Dimentio, am not HeroOfFire)

Are we allowed to submit other's quest for racing? Or should they be requested by the author of the quest? If it's not author only...

Submissions for the quests I just suggested (click to show)

(I apologize in advance to Moosh and/or HeroOfFire if either or neither of you are okay with me suggesting your quests, in which case if you aren't I'll edit this post out)

As much as I'm interested in taking those on. I'd much prefer if they were submitted by the creators themselves.

As that way it would also be a way of them saying "Here you go, play my quest, I give you permission" ;)

Name of Quest: Freedom In Chains
Author: Moosh
Version of ZC: 2.50.1 (I think? It should work on 2.50.2, from what I remember when I played it)
Estimated Blind Player Length: 6 hours.
Link to find said quest (Probably will be on this site): http://www.purezc.ne...showtopic=67965
Image of your quest logo (We'll put it on the background): http://i.imgur.com/k2pxBPU.png

I am fine with this suggestion. Quest was made in 2.5.0 but should work fine in 2.5.2. I don't exactly have a quest logo (this is a common theme due to my lack of artistic talent) so the screenshot Dimentio linked is fine.
