The first is with the hookshot. When you use the hookshot and hit a curtain combo when it comes back the last tile of the hookshot changes.
The second involves the wand. What ever damage you do to enemies with the wand you take that much damage. For instance, if you did 4 damage you take one full heart, or if you do 4 damage and the enemy had 2 life then link would take one half of a heart.
