Lol, I dunno why, but that is the funniest one to me. I'm pretty happy with mine, I think I already know what combo I'm going with :D

Scottish Zombie Encounter + An action game where you hunt famous people but bees are trying to stop you

Oh, but you would...

One thing: Dimentio asked me, and I have no answer... he wanted to build the contest quest using 2.54. I'm not sure if that's allowed, or frankly feasible, but you might want to clarify it.

b30 is stable enough, if people want to use it, at least for the features marked as such. It could sure use some full testing though, and I have no idea what your purview is on that sort of thing.

I see no reason not to put out a 2.50 version, and an 'enhanced' 2.54 version if people want to try it.

You can use whatever build you want to make your entry.

But keep in mind that if your quest file is not compatible with the official 2.50 version of ZC and if you require people to download a specific build to play your entry, there will likely be less people playing it.

That's essentially why I'd advise a dual-release. One for anyone, and one for people who love extra content. Is that something that makes sense to you?

As I am planning a quest that is very reliant on the new 2.54 features, I don't think a 2.50 build is feasible. What I'm hoping to do is instead include a link to the download of the build the quest uses. I mean, people download the enhanced music for quest to get the full enjoyment, and the sizes of those are much bigger than a build, so I don't see why people wouldn't download it.

What state exactly is this build you're planning to use in? Last time I downloaded one of Zoria's builds, it had to open a command prompt window to start up and when it did, it triggered my antivirus and got thrown into the virus chest. Ultimately if the program works, it works, but I can see people being put off by that kind of thing.

So it just occurred to me. Do we have to pick a title AND a theme from the list or is it an either/or deal? If we have to do both, that complicates things...

Did you have it in your normal ZC path? There's nothing ultimately different about the builds to 2.50.3, other than new features enabled internally. You can drop zelda-w.exe ad zquest-w.exe into a typical ZC 2.50.3 folder, and run them with zlaunch. Now, my ag.cfg file might have given you issues, and as far as that is concerned, I can fix it; but no-one reports these things.

I'll drop in the default ag.cfg files from 2.50.3 in the next build.

ZC is sadly known for false positives with scanners though. It shouldn't however, be any different to any other version of ZC in that regard.

As long as he uses the features that are known to be stable, the build is stable. If he trails off, experimenting with things that are known to be unfinished, we,, there's nothing that I can do about that. This is pretty much 'Lost Isle' territory, and if I mark something 'unfinished, not implemented, do not use', and people use it, then that's beyond my scope of control. I've been intentionally not disclosing some instructions because of their present state, and I disable some in public builds to prevent people from discovering them, using them, and complaining.

You're supposed to pick a title AND a theme.

Note that in the previous contest, where you only had a title to work with, sticking to what your title implied was more important. Here, having two elements to combine, you could afford to pick a title that evokes the quest but is not fully representative of its gameplay, since you have the themes for that.

Oh. Well shit. I'm not exactly in the right mood to make something jokey this time, so that feels a little creatively stifling. Ah well, I guess I'll see if I can think of something...

Is it too late to change the rules yet? I assumed we could pick one of the 6 choices. I would have preferred that, but I guess picking a title and a theme is alright too, even though this is gonna be hard. xD

I'm not demanding a change, I'm just nicely asking.

I'm with Moosh and Avataro. A name AND a theme is too stiffling. Coming up with something that fits one of them is hard enough already. I don't really want to participate if we have to do both.

Alright then. It's ok to only pick one of them.

But not as entertaining. Lol Combining them would have made some wacky quests. Lol
