Is there a way to import sprite sheets (like from Spriter's Resource or similar) into ZQuest? I want to make a miniquest where you play as a Subrosian, but I don't really feel like I can redraw the sprites, and there doesn't seem to be any loose Subrosian tiles on PureZC.

Thanks for any help.

You can import sprites by clicking:

Quest (on the upper left bar) -> Graphics -> Tiles -> Grab (Make sure you are on a page with room for tiles!) -> File (Bottom right corner) -> (Select the image file of the sprites you want!) -> Shift + Left click to highlight the tiles you want -> Click OK

That's all!

note: Images you download may not be in a perfect grid for importing in ZQuest. In this case, you can manipulate the file using paint to fit every sprite in a 16x16 box before importing.

An additional note there. By pressing the s key while grabbing tiles, you can change your step from 16 pixels to 8 pixels to 1 pixel, allowing you to line up the tiles onto a 16x16 grid yourself. You can also hilight a group of tiles and hold alt while pressing the arrow key to moves the tiles around and line them up with the grid.

Also useful is this fact, which I learned via Moosh. You can select a block of tiles by clicking on one while holding shift and then selecting the far corner of that block. (The shape of the block is either rectangular or all tiles in a row. Press Space to shift this.)

One you have selected a block of tiles, you can then hold down the left Alt key (I don't know if it works with the right one) and use the arrow keys to move the entire block of tiles one pixel at a time. This is great for fitting oddly shaped or badly ripped sprites into combo sizes spaces.
