I was watching the movie "A dog's purpose" and ever time when the dog dies. The dog becomes someone else. So I thought to myself, what if we die we become someone else as well? This may sound odd but could it possibly happen? We die and become someone else and born. It's kinda like when a baby is born someone dies and the person who died becomes the baby, like if your male you become female, and female becomes male when born, either way. And when our actual selves die, they see darkness, but when we die, we remember nothing. This topic may be odd, but that's kinda my opinion on life and death.

Chris Rock played this concept out pretty well, except minus the being born part. :>

I personally don't believe any one thing that happens when we move on, but this one is a favorite. Reincarnation is a good one; coming back to life anew. There's also speculation that you live the same life or a life very similar.

Beliefs are fun when you're open minded. At least we don't go back to the lifestream and mentally assault guys with giant swords. Oops, dragon attack, gotta go!

I have a semi-theory that babies cry so much because they remember how they die, but they forget those memories as they grow older.

What you're describing is a concept called reincarnation. It's actually preached by a lot of eastern religions, most notable Hinduism and Buddhism. I suppose it could be possible, in the sense that just about anything is possible. However, given the total lack of evidence of it occurring (and people have researched it, believe it or not), and the lack of any process we know of by which it could happen, I'm more inclined towards disbelief, myself.

A point that does always interest me about the concept, however, is the idea of what it actually means to be reborn. People are essentially the sum of their personalities and experiences. If you're born without any memories and any of the events that shaped you into who you were, are you really you? How is it any different from somebody being born with a similar baseline personality? In light of that, what does it even mean to be reincarnated?

That's a dark concept, but I admit it's entertaining.

What you're describing though, Unpost, is a concept that many schools of thought do subscribe to. Reincarnation, in some form, is present in a lot of eastern religions, and the concept is even toyed with in different sects of Christianity. It's such an old concept, cause humans will forever wonder what really happens when you die

EDIT: Ninja'd by Russ lol..

It's nice to think about, but this is my choice of silly dog movie that guides my beliefs towards the thought of a cold inevitable end.

that remind me that even in the "gaia trilogy" the characters  belived in reincarnation, but was not casual, there was "rules"  like  " man that die in sea reborn as dolphin"...

I don't belive it too much but if i can reborn... i want be a eagle :  fly on the sky, make the nest on the rocks and rule the peak of the mountain, capture prey diving from the sky...how strange while i was writing all this is like i almost remember it

I remember how this movie messed me up as a child, mostly since I took things far too serious, facing them from a realistic and analytical perspective that I couldn't handle at that age :D

Even now the cover invokes some rather negative feelings in me.
