I guess Joke Quest of the Year is out?

I actually agree with Koh that a pixel artist of the year would be good. In my mind, "Artistic" is meant to apply to members' writing, poetry, and art works (and maybe that should be clarified in the category name). I mean, we have "Tileset" and "Tiles" categories, but I still think there's room for one that covers video game graphics as a whole, personally. Maybe we could even replace the "Tiles" category? Is that meant to specifically apply to loose tiles?

 

We're talking about having stuff like this and this competing in the same category. I'm not saying one is inherently better than the other, but it definitely seems like apples to oranges.

My reason for my suggestion is that my personal most anticipated quest doesn't have a demo, so I'd like to choose a different demo in an individual "Demo of the Year" category. But yes, I see where you are coming from. I'm definetly fine with having Expo content and Demo of the Year combined into Most Anticipated Quest. It's alright.

I agree with Avataro. I have a feeling that the most anticipated quest of the year doesn't have a demo. but I could be wrong.

Uh, we have both Chat Member and Forum Member of the year.

I don't have a fundamental issue with that, but wouldn't Pixel Artist fit more into General? Which would mean we'd then have 21 General and 19 ZC and oh god my ocd

Eh, I think pixel artist skills can apply to the ZC category. It's not a perfect fit, though.

Enemy of the Year. Lots of quests have really cool enemies that don't fall under the 'Boss of the Year' banner.

Also Item of the Year.

I really like Evan's suggestions, but I'm also worried about the list becoming too bloated.

 

It'd be nice to see scripting talent represented on a wider level like that. Not all good scripts are bosses, after all.

Custom Boss of the Year becoming Enemy of the Year would broaden the category in a good way. I think the Custom Boss category actually predated scripting. Although, while a boss definitely fits as an enemy, I usually think of non-bosses when I hear the term enemy. Maybe the category could be called "Baddy of the Year" instead?
