One of the possible factors is that we asked people to submit no more than one nomination per category. I suppose if everybody thought it was the second-best quest of 2013, it wouldn't show up at all.

I was also surprised, to be honest, because several people mentioned it as their favourite of the year or even more than that, so I expected it to get a nomination. Another possible factor, of course, is that not everybody has submitted nominations (I know I didn't - I was lazy). Oh well, the nominated quests are worthy ones anyway, and I was pleased to see that my Time Fortress got two nominations. :)

If I could have nominated more than just 1 quest, we'd have Promised Lands in the contest, but no. xD

So anyways I wish everyone good luck, for each contest!

Could also be that most people probably thought someone else already nominated it so they decided to nominate something else for variety. I know I was thinking it when I made my nominations, though I hadn't really played a ton of quests this year (yours included) so I nominated one I played. :heh:

If you don't win, it'll all be because of that awkward "special guest" in the last part. That guy was such a nerd! ;)

Either that, or another possible solution:

I'm surprised that the only thing I got nominated was "most likely to become staff" which is funny I don't think I would be a good staffer.

Albeit its nice to know someone thinks I would become staff at some point. Guess I left a good impression on someone. :3

Yeah, I think a lot of good quests were left out for quest of the year too. I was shocked that no one nominated Randomizer Modern for one. We should probably allow for more than one quest per person next time.

I didn't nominate anything this time. Mostly because I don't care about 95% of the categories to be honest. And it'd feel a bit awkward to submit nominations for like 2 things.

Not to be overly direct, but wouldn't actually nominating the quest solve the issue? Two nominations sent is better than zero. Surely better participation in conjunction with multiple nominations would lead to fewer complaints about how "ABC" wasn't nominated for "XYZ." We'll keep that in mind for next year, but in the meantime, let's enjoy this year. There are lots of good options and remarkable variety in the General section especially. :)

There are still two tie-breakers tied! So basically I'll be checking them periodically, as soon as one has a winner, I'll be closing it and finalizing the superlatives. Home stretch, everyone!
