(Note: This is mostly copy/pasted from the Dev Topic Section with some editing made to be more specific for the public update.)

Over a week or so I announced that I'll be updating staff to keep it more up to date with how things are currently standing with this quest today in 2016 and marking the beginning of 2017. After contacting all the quest staff, all the changes have now been completed or currently pending. Here is a list of changes to the quest staff currently as I post this:

Who's New:

Evan20000 is now a new beta tester. I had a small talk with him during private message and though he said he's very busy at the moment, he is interested in the position and plans to be more invested in the future. Dimentio is also new to the team as well, only being added a couple of weeks ago.

Who's Left Us:

ms_zelda_lady has left us due to private reasons and LunarRedMage has also left us due to lack of interest and involvement with Zelda Classic in general.

Demotions:

(Yes, I know adviser is techincally a lesser role than beta tester as far as site privilages go, but I'm sure most of you understand how I roll with this)

Demonlink has been demoted to beta tester mainly due to his lack of involvement with Zelda Classic and this quest in general. Also, I haven't really been discussing quest ideas with him as much as I'd used to. I'd like to reserve advisers for people who can contribute more to the quest than just beta testing. This also leads to another demotion that may come as a surprise to people. Me and Avataro had a small talk about his involvement with the quest. I feel more or less that his involvement in this quest has roughly been the same as Moosh, and not quite enough to call this a co-author quest anymore. This quest over the years now pretty much has my fingerprints all over it and feels much more like an NJF quest than an Avataro quest. Also with his introduction of Light and Darkness, we both felt this was an appropriate move. In some way, this demotion kind of bothers me because I feel like I snubbed Avataro in a way, but I promise that wasn't the intent. It was just something we both agreed on and I hope this decision doesn't really bother anybody who's currently a huge fan of Avataro's work. He's still a big part of this quest, similar to the same fashion that Moosh is a big part of this quest currently.

In Conclusion:

These revisions I have made currently reflect where the staff I feel stands today in the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017. I don't feel any changes will be needed again for some time. Maybe in 2 or 3 years I'll reflect on staff positions again and contact each quest staff individually to update things again. Thank you all who have supported this quest and who continue to support this quest, and also to those who are new. When changes are finalized I'll be copying this post to a main update for the community as well.

The project is already a few years old...and you're saying the quest staff could change again in another few years? Is there any real hope of it being finished? Not to criticize, but it doesn't feel very hopeful, as amazing as it appears it can be. It must be a really amazing project...and I can understand a few years...but not 5 or more. If its ever finished...I'll be very happy to play. (ps...at most, I have experience as a beta tester. I don't know how to do scripts or otherwise...so I don't feel I can be much help with this.)

I'm as hopeful towards the quest as it's progression state, and ever since my son went to school this quest has been progressing much quicker than ever before. However, it's still a very large quest.

Also, keep in mind that while you don't see many updates being made in this quest, this is a selective choice. I prefer to keep that information readily available for the quest staff only, leaving public updates as vague as possible. Everybody who's a part of this project can back me up on this one that I've been very busy with this quest this since my son started school in September.

I want to apologize for my earlier remark. I was being over critical and insensitive.I realized it after I saw your post about promises...and how much work and time, for everyone is involved. When I read that, I went to find this post to apologize.

Even as a beta tester on certain quests...I understand some of the pressure involved in not wanting to let anyone down, especially if its a quest that requires several plays of testing. Life keeps me busy, so I can't always do plays 'on demand' so to speak, though I try to when needed.

I also understand fully the importance of promises. Its one of my core values in life as well. I try to never make promises or commitments I can't keep, and if I do, I do everything in my power and ability to make sure I follow through on them no matter what. Its how I am.

So, yea....sorry again about that...and thank you for all the work you've put into your quests so far. I look forward to seeing your future projects. :)
