Please welcome the first maps of 2016! I'm giving this contest a little head start so that it isn't drowned out by Map of the Year, set to begin tomorrow.

Ovasity, I'm probably sure I haven't seen your posts yet but I'm giving you my vote. This is nice and clean cut. How hard is it coming up with a good overworld map?

a30502355: Looks like a very puzzle heavy dungeon. Palette looks pretty good, and the aesthetics is also fairly good.
Joelmacool: Same nitpick about the grass ending straight to the grass as I have with your SotW entry, otherwise it looks good I suppose. To be honest this feels fairly small for MotM to me.

Ovasity - Looks like a really cool map. The mountains are a bit too squared for me, but everything else looks really nicely done.
a305 - Nice dungeon map. I like what's going on here. Something also tells me that there's gonna be a whole load of scripting when Moosh is in the name of this place
Joelmacool - Nicely done. Love the detail here and everything looks really fantastic. If only the map was bigger I would vote for it, but from what I'm looking at here, it's some really nice stuff.
I voted for a305 this month, with Joel being in very close 2nd.

Ovasity: Looks pretty nice, but not very unique. It would be better if there was a bit more color.
a30502355: Very nice dungeon! Though I do have one question: Why are you making a shrine dedicated to Moosh?
Joelmacool: I wouldn't call this a map, but from what I see it is very nice looking.
My vote goes to a30502355 this month!

I voted Joelmacool. It's in map of the month and has multiple screens, so it's a map and it's the one with the least amount of quirks and oddities, and is nicely designed, so I'm voting for it.

Ovasity:
My vote goes here. Especially the north-westen water-part of the map is great.
a30502355:
(n)ice dungeon!
Joelmacool:
looks good, but too small.

I voted for Joelmacool.
You don't need a ton of screens for something to be considered a good map.

Voted for Joelmacool here. It has the fewest screens, but they are effective. I personally enjoy seeing much larger maps, and think maps should have to be a bare minimum of 4 screens. The other two maps did not appeal to me very much. The overworld is kind of empty, and doesn't seem to really have much going on outside of being big, and the dungeon wasn't bad, but I'm just not a fan of GB.
