Mega Maker's a pretty cool thing, I've done some poking around with it myself and don't have any finished levels yet, but—

but for a better game

—let's not start this, please. Yes, they're both side-view platformers, but Mario and Mega Man honestly probably shouldn't be compared to each other.

So want something like this, but don't have access to Windows at the moment. The NES style Mega Man games are my favorite games of all time. I agree they are better than Mario. Sure that's just what I think, but why would I express someone else's perspective?  :XD:

This game is really fun, and something the Switch could really use right about now.  I've made a level so far, and I really like it.  Shame you can only replace music locally, but it'd be awesome if we could have custom music.

I gotta say, this is looking really nice. I'll probably pick it up at some point and mess around with it for a bit. Never played many Mega Man games, but hopefully I can get something done with this :P

But Mega Man is a better game  AmcOYLu.gif at least for me. Mario is so blah and boring.

It looks pretty polished, but...

Capcom sending a Cease and Desist in three, two...

When will these people learn to swap out the IP assests with their own, so they don't get in trouble?  The cycle continues.

Better not, they were going to give us this in Mega Man Universe

Capcom isn't the type to C&D fangames in my experience. They'll be fine. Capcom's more likely to license and rerelease this like they did Megaman x Street Fighter to be honest.

This looks cool. I'm not an avid MM fan, but I'll be checking it out.

And like TS said, Capcom is usually pretty cool about fan projects. They even embrace them sometimes. This also proves Nintendo is basically lying, or at least bending the truth when they say "uhh we HAVE to protect our ips or we lose them sry guys"

Well, Capcom hasn't done anything with Mega Man since Inafune left, except let Nintendo use him in Smash and rerelease some old games. I wouldn't say he is an existing IP for them until they give us something new

Were Megaman 9, and 10 post-Inafune? But yeah, sadly, classic Megaman is pretty much dead at this point. That's why, given Mario Maker's success, Capcom might let this one slide (or if they're smart, cash in on it).

Been playing around with this for a bit actually. It's rather fun, but lacking content for now. Only 12 bosses so far and enemies/objects are limited.

I also noticed this is crafted with Game Maker from YoYoGames since I got a few errors, and those error popups were quite familiar :P

Preemptive "let's not start this copyright/trademark DMCA argument" statement here. It hasn't started yet, but we don't need that to resurface in a thread that should really be about celebrating Megaman and sharing some cool levels.

And in response to the above, no, 9 and 10 were before Inafune left.
