“It is a time of unrest in Hyrule. Four years after Ganondorf was defeated by the Hero of Time, villains have risen up all around the land, vying for dominance in a land that’s still recovery from the fallout of war. However, following in the footsteps of the Hero of Time are Adventurers, groups of people undertaking quests to defend against these threats, gain treasures, and restore peace to the land.”
“Unfortunately, despite defeating several major threats thus far, the damage is already done. The Hylian Guard was severely crippled after a clash with the Followers of Wisdom, a heretic group that used mind control to amass an army of followers. The great wizard Agahnim used his own form of mind control and dark power to gain control of the Gerudo army, and although he was defeated by a group of adventurers recently, he was still able to attack Hyrule with the army. With the Hylians drastically weakened and the rest of the land in chaos from the attack, Hyrule needs new adventurers to stop the uprisings of evil and restore peace to the land.”
Zelda Universe RPG (aka, ZURPG) is an online roleplaying game based in the Zelda Universe, taking place following the events of Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask. It includes a turn-based combat system that utilizes dice, fully customizable characters, lots of different items and abilities, and most importantly… copious amounts of shenanigans. Sessions usually run either latenight (DMed by Windstrike) or on the weekends (DMed by me or someone else), and last on an average of 2-3 hours, and that’s at most once a week.
Currently, we’ve got only a handful of longtime players that are keeping the torch lit, though with recent story developments that are in the process of trimming loose ends and paving the way for new players, we’re looking to see if anyone, be it someone that played an older version of the game, or someone new entirely, would be interested in joining the shenanigans. Relative to Tabletop RPGs like D&D, Pathfinder, etc., the game is fairly easy to learn the base rules, though if you’re completely new to this style of game, it won’t be hard, but it might be a little overwhelming.
If yer interested, let us know here, and hop on over to The Official ZURPG Site here to register. If ye have any questions, ask away!
PS: To anyone that’s played an older variant that’s afraid of another rework, we absolutely refuse to do yet another rework/overhaul/etc. to the game, cause everyone is sick of them.
