Well then, with Evan here, I think this contest is already over...

Eh, I disagree, I say most of the shots here are pretty similar in quality.

 

The very samy colors throughout both Evan and Joel's dungeon maps kind of turned me away somewhat, but that's just more of me being nitpicky, since I had to think of some reason for picking the shot I picked. Ultimately, I voted for a30502355's since it's a pretty nice looking overworld.

This is a pretty tough week actually.

 

Joelmacool12 - That's a really cool map. It actually gives me vibes of MM's Woodfall Temple with all of that swamp water and scenery. Sadly this isn't the more up-to-date version which had more cool features and the two rooms at the top were actually completed. It's a pretty good effort though. I also like how the dungeon isn't so monochrome anymore, so that's a big plus.

 

bmc10011 - It's good for what it looks like I guess, though the random colour transitions can be a bit of a turn off, but I'll let that slide since this is classic after all. My only main gripe is that section over on the right side. Playing through that in the original quest was not fun and looking at it now, it just seems far too squished and convoluted. Maybe if you open up that area a bit, but still make it kind of a maze, it would look better and be a bit more playable.

 

a30502355 - This is a really cool overworld map. Looks like it's made in a very similar style to Zelda Conquest and the Triforce of Terror, which is a bonus for me since those overworlds looked good, and this one does too.

 

Evan20000 - This is pretty awesome. I can't really imagine how confusing it would play out, but map design wise, it looks really good.

 

All in all, it was very close between Joelmacool12, a30502355 and Evan, but I went for Evan in the end.

You're welcome to do that, but why not leave some constructive criticism on the maps? That's the only way to make future months less "weak."

Classic design is my favorite kind honestly..but i voted Evan. Such uniqueness.
