changing enemy death effect?

is it possible to make an enemy flash for a while and then explode with a 8 frame 2x2 death effect when dying?

I simply would extend the death effect and offset it but I don't think that will work

Grab my Gameboy header, and look at how it handles death effects. Modify them to fit your fancy.

@ZoriaRPG it doesn't look like it still has it in the code

it looks like its just buffing and nerfing functions

See the function, EnemyExplosionFFC() and ffc script Explosion in the file 'LinksAwakening_0_63_Dist.z'.
