I'm envious. Never had any good (belgian?) waffles, neither pancakes how you eat them in america.

What upsets me is that we live in a world of extremes. You're either waffles or you're pancakes, there's no in-between. Is it any wonder that there's so much suffering in the world when everyone feels like they have to pick one? Why does loyalty to one breakfast food have to interfere with your own sense of individuality and reason? Think for yourself! I know it can be comforting to be part of a certain crowd. You may feel a sense of belonging at being among the ranks of the waffle lovers, and feel perfectly justified for blaming all the problems in the world on the pancake lovers. But do you really believe those who prefer pancakes are evil? No, really. Stop and think about it. Maybe the people on the other side are more like you than you think. Sure, you each might like your breakfast pastries cooked a bit differently, thicker and crunchier, or thinner and more pillowy. But you're missing the big picture - we all like breakfast pastries! So before you look too harshly at those on the other side, just try to remember ... It may be common these days to demonize people who don't think just like you, but if we could just focus on our common ground, there'd be a lot less strife in the world.

So yeah, I don't identify as a pancake lover or a waffle lover. I just eat what feels right depending on the situation.

Well said. I think we can all agree that covfefe is a good common ground breakfast meal, though. Crunchy yet thin, and incredibly pom in its conception...*

I have to go with waffles, as I actually enjoy eating them. I have never been a big fan of pancakes, unless they are done just right. If they don't soak up the syrup, then I'm ok. I hate soggy anything...

Funny- I actually like how soggy pancakes are. Waffles aren't as easy to eat in my opinion.

(also, I-hop triple chocolate pancakes or bust! )

I seen this discussion on Raocows site. Waffles, but pancakes have their place. French toast beats them both. The real question is... anyone here made French toast with a pancake or waffle? Now THAT seems yummy. Calling it now folks, the next big thing will be: French waffle toast.

Pancakes because you don't need any specialized equipment to make them.

Maaaaaaan
What's up with pancakes
I try to apply a bit of sugary syrupy goodiness
And it's all like
"No man,
It's gonna fall right off"
But waffles have these bunch of tiny squares, in case you never noticed
then your syrup stays in place
And everything is A to the O to the K
On the other hand
Maaaaaaaan
What's up with waffles
Sometimes I've applied my syrup and am ready to dig into my meal
But it's all like
"No man,
You can't cut into this with the side of your fork"
But pancakes are flat and thin, in case you haven't noticed
So when I go and so the same with my pancake
everything is A to the O to the K
So the battle continues.
