Every time I save, and exit ZC, I have to reconfigure my Xbox controller. How do I make it not do this? I just re-downloaded ZC 2.50.2 for a clean start, and this keeps happening. It was also happening with the regular keyboard controls but it seems to have randomly decided to save them? This doesn't happen in my other ZC 2.50.2. I guess it's not a huge deal, but it is annoying to have to reassign all my buttons again each time.

Check to ensure that force_exit is set to 0 and that fastquit is set to 0 in ag.cfg.

How are you starting ZC? Are you using any launch software? The controller configuration is saved to ag,cfg during the exit functions. When you quit, are you closing the window with the close widget, or are you selecting Quit from a menu or from a keypress?

I use the launcher. When I exit, I usually save in the quest, then press F10, or just press escape, and click on "Exit". I kind of figured it might have something to do with the configuration file. EDIT: Both of those things are set to zero in my ag.config file.

Yeah, I don't get it. It's totally random if it saves or not.

It could be that it is not saving, or it could be that the launcher is clearing it.

I have experienced the controls not saving, but I have never quite nailed it down... While this is not a true 'fix', what you can try for the present, is to open ZC, set up your controller, then cleanly quit ZC, and reopen it. See if your controls revert, or not.

It could be that ZC does not have appropriate permissions to write to ag.cfg as well. You may need to run it as admin, or ensure that it has the rights to modify files on the filesystem; although I would think that if this was wrong, that it would not save the quest either.

What I can do for a future build, is to add a validation so that on exiting, when ZC writes the controller config, it then reads back and verifies that the config settings in the ag.cfg file match, and if not, to alert the user, and ask to retry. Moving the config saving routines up in priority for the exit function calls might also help.

Is this happening every time for your duplicate ZC path, or is it purely at random? Random bugs are rather hard to diagnose, so if it is happening repeatedly, you may be able to help us track this one down.

If you need a working copy in the interim, you can copy your ag.cfg file from your working path to a non-working path, but please make a back-up of the ag.cfg file, first.

Thanks, but I -think- i may have figured it out. Firstly, I'm already an admin on my computer since there is no one else using it :P

So, it seems like F10'ing out of the player without doing any type of in game save resets it, but not every time (But I would think game saving would have nothing to do with writing to ag.cfg). However, after going to a save spot in Panoply of Calatia, and selecting "quit" it seems to have permanently saved the controller settings. I exited a few times with F10, and by closing it via the "x" and it seems to be saving them now.
