Nicely done. I'm not a huge fan of classic quests. I never was. However, this quest has caught my eye and my attention. I really like the spin you're putting on the tileset. icon_smile.gif

Thanks, that's part of the idea icon_smile.gif I want people who would normally shy away from tclassic to want to play this, cause I'd like it to show that a good quest can be made even with the 'simplest' tile set.

This quest will feature a lot of traditional Zelda 'dungeon' themes, but each 'dungeon' might not be a temple you walk into with a set theme. You will have fire, forest, ice, desert, water, dark, etc. areas that function as dungeons, but there will also be some more 'classic' styled dungeons as well, meaning, there might not really be a theme outside of it being a dungeon.

As for a dungeon count, there are eight Triforce dungeons, and three other mandatory dungeons, including the final dungeon.

I just wanted to make a quick post to say that I'm on vacation (North Carolina, Outer Banks, it's awesome., and worked a lot before, so I've not had a lot of time to work on this. But as it usually goes for me, progress will begin again when free time is more sparse.

Looks pretty cool. I've done stuff like this in one of my own quests, but I'm intruiged by the way you did it. It's done by having two different sword beams, with different properties, the fire one set to pass through enemies, and the ice one set to do 0 damage, right? Pretty clever. Looking forward to this. Although... would it be too much to ask to not have the rule where Link's right facing slash is mirrored? It screws me up so badly it's not even funny.

Yep, that is exactly how I did it. Each sword alone has a power of 2 (white sword) and the fire beams are 50% power, while the Ice is 0. And yeah, I unchecked that rule already cause, I dunno if you can tell, but it was messing with me too in the video. Link slashes regularly now.

Hey man, I just caught wind of this and wanted to let you know how good it looks. I thought people were exaggerating your use of the classic set, but after looking at your stuff, I have to say that it looks incredible! I hope you find the time to put out a demo.

Thanks guys. icon_smile.gif

I haven't worked a lot in ZC within the last six weeks or so until recently. I went through a nasty break-up, and have been working quite a bit. However, life isn't really that bad, and I have a bit more time to use ZC now lol. I've been working on my other project as of late, but this isn't completely dead.

I just have to say that what you have done with the classic tileset is awesome. I was trying to think of a way to start back up and make a sequel to my only quest but in DoR wixed with some classic, but your work has inspired me to keep with classic.

Great work!

Wow, thanks everyone for the words of encouragement icon_smile.gif

I have been away from this thread, and ZC for quite a while, as life has thrown me threw some circumstances that took priority. I am still working on a Classic project, with enhanced graphics, but it won't be this exact same project. Don't worry, 90% of the themes, and tiles you've seen so far will be in the new project, but that quest was simply an unorganized mess from layers, to maps, to tiles and combos.

It is still my goal to make a full featured quest with an enhanced classic set, and I am now on my way to doing that icon_smile.gif

Here's a bit of info about the most recent turn this project has taken:

This quest will have a world map using Zelda 2 tiles. However, the quest will still feature distinct areas within the world map, covering all the basics so far such as the forest area, an Eldin mountain inspired area, a swamp, and a icey area, plus a desert, and a few more.
