Well, BP won this dubious "award" last year, and apparently Halliburton before that, so they were exempt from being re-nominated this year, I guess.

I was kind of hoping Bank of America would get it this year; they're responsible for some significant damage to the economy ("LET'S GIVE A BUNCH OF LOANS TO PEOPLE WHO WON'T PAY US BACK!!!! oh wait crap we gave out too many") and just being general jerks to people (a story comes to mind about a guy whose debit card was used in Greece to buy $25000 worth of stuff that they refused to give back, saying it was a legitimate charge.)

Wait, does BP count as an American company for purposes such as this?... It's so hard to tell sometimes, as corporations tend to blur the international boundaries as much as they can get away with, and they can get away with a lot these days. icon_confused.gif

Bank of America is certainly a valid nominee, but shouldn't they have won it awhile back?...

Whoa hey, what's wrong with Capcom? They brought Phoenix Wright into the world. That's gotta make up for some of those Megaman games... Right?

Capcom is such a mixed bag. On the one hand, they make such amazing games. And then, they do crap like this. Overall, I like them because of the games that they put out, but I can't stand it when they start playing dirty...

I myself hate EA for how they made the Sims in The Sims 3. If you have ever seen them, then you understand why I hate EA. However, I must say that the way they are is... icon_frown.gif prophetic... icon_frown.gif

EA also sells objects and worlds for The Sims 3 in The Sims 3 Store (as if that company wasn't filthy rich already.) I despise how The Sims 3 and its expansion packs have ridiculous glitches such as the ceilings in buildings not working properly. The whole Katy Perry gig with the Showtime expansion pack for that game is ridiculous. How would you like it if a future Zelda game had some celebrity endorsing it? icon_confused.gif

There are some pictures of how STUPID icon_mad.gif the Sims in The Sims 3 look when they put on STUPID icon_mad.gif smiles while walking! They make me say BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

It's a title they deserve. Continuously knitting forward on one game is usually the worst mistake of any videogame company, same for any other company. The prime example being the Sims of course. And what CastChaos said... just releasing a half assed game to make some quick cash.

What you just said makes absolutely no sense. The fact that they're the publisher directly contradicts with your post. Of course they had a hand in the Sims 3, heck, I'm willing to bet that if it wasn't for EA, Maxis would have been doing a better job at not making countless, utterly pointless 'expansion packs', designed only to get the most out of your wallet.

A publisher has a lot of control over their products, and EA is probably one of the publishers who involves themselves in the production the most, if only to assure the money-making machine still works. To say otherwise would be wrong. So yeah, you're wrong icon_razz.gif

Please don't put words in my mouth. All I said is that it wasn't devloped by EA, which is true.

No, you said EA had, and I quote, "no b(e)aring on the sims 3". Which, as I've already explained, isn't true icon_razz.gif

Ah, well that I can't disagree with.

The problem with your post, as I saw it anyway, was that you made it sound like EA had no hand in the development of The Sims 3. I suppose I misunderstood you then icon_smile.gif

Let us clear up who it was that made The Sims 3.
The Sims 3 Wikipedia
The Sims Studio Wikipedia
Will Wright had no part in the creation of The Sims 3 (that certainly icon_mad.gif explains a lot.) One of the things that is proof that EA developed The Sims 3 is the cheeky egg music you hear in the various modes of the game.
Video on youtube with cheeky egg music samples.
The cheeky egg music of The Sims 3 sucks the fun out of the game (I didn't know that The Sims 3 was an office building.) icon_glare.gif

As for Maxis, it worked on Spore instead of The Sims 3. Anybody care to talk about the digital rights management issues of that game?

The third rendition, The Sims 3, was released by EA in 2009. However, production of the game, its expansion packs and stuff packs were left to The Sims Studio as Maxis focused on their Spore franchise.

A challenger appears!
