Fun fact: I have now finished the first dungeon. I might throw in a couple extra details to touch it up, but overall, it is effectively able to be completed.

That's about it for this update, at least to the public. There's a pretty neat idea my brain is hatching right now, but I'd rather discuss it discreetly...

I really enjoy those Hyrule Field screenies you have in your previous post Prospekt! Very lovely they are! I like the dungeons shots quite a bit too. The one with the Stone Slab seems to be a little bit on the plain side though, perhaps some wall pillars, or torches. As for the overworld screen there, I like how it looks. but I do understand your frustration on the water color, and honestly, I can't think of any suggestions. I've never been great with palettes myself.

The text for "Mementos" is really what I want to change, so that's basically why it's still "beta". I also need to insert in a small "Press Down" at the bottom, I suppose...

Also, part of the intro that I'm planning, since I just love poetry:

"The tales of which you may know,
A hero, a princess, and a villain,
And their bloodlines that flow,
Each time these stories begin."

Also, just to let people know (if they even bother to see this) that I'm willing to pass out a small beta demo of the quest to a few people (Angeal and LTM will already be getting copies) one of these days, so if you're interested, lemme know. It'll just be the intro dungeon, some story, and exploring what I have of the overworld so far. Nothing big, but a sneak preview at least.

I actually like the Mementos text; it's a unique style that's pretty interesting. The main problem is that it clashes with the "ZELDA" text. I swear it looks like it's made of marshmallows. Not bad looking, it just doesn't work with the Mementos text.

I'd be interested in getting a demo, if you don't mind me giving you feedback on it that may come across as a bit harsh.

So... I think I'm gonna finish this quest in 2.10. 2.5 has already discouraged and burned me out with the amount of extra work I'd have to put into it. I would like to possibly do a director's cut in 2.5 when Mementos is finished (and perhaps when 2.5 is finished by then), though.

More people use 2.5, and it's less of a hassle for people that don't want to download 2.10. Most people don't have it nowadays.

Moved here for a few reasons, rather wouldn't say without insulting half the board.

Anyway, I'm gonna be a bastard and repost some stuff from the Screenshot Thread because it basically got no attention and honestly sort of pisses me off :/





So. This is what I've been working on, currently- Mt. Eldin. It's mostly going to be focused on a single massive stairway in the center of the biggest part of the mountain, with cave systems and small goron villages spread throughout, a lot of the latter linked together in a way that will let you ascend the mountain. At the top will be the first major dungeon, the Temple of Din. Once I finish these things up, it'll be demo time.

I like it. I like that you can make a dilapidated and "dirty" looking mountain yet still use some occasional color in it. It keeps it from looking too monotonous.

Looking forward to a demo! Being able to actually play things is good, I think.

But yeah, basically what Rambly said. The colors make it POP!
