I'm pretty sure Radien is already doing this -_-..
Although your excuse for me to stop working on this project was made invalid by proceeding comments, but I thought I would respond anyways. The game is going to be completely different from Radien's trust me.

He wasn't the first one to do it/attempt it. There's already a complete one on the AGN database from
many-a years back, and I remember seeing a project here and there attempting it. So yeah...I see no issue here,
especially since they're different authors and will almost certainly be two different styles.
Now, I can't really say there's much to comment on. I loved Zelda II, so I'm interested in seeing where this goes. Nice to hear that you're trying to get the enemies from the original game. It'd be interesting to see how some of them would translate into an overhead style. :3
Looking forward to seeing what you make of this. I'll be able to give real feedback once we've got some stuff to look at.

Agreed... The more the merrier...

Agreed with Spacemandan.
There aren't very many Z2 remakes so the more the merrier! It's not like another Zelda 1 remake. We've got about over 100 of those. So I'm thinking this one will be a bit more unique.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing the scripts. I really like the enemies in Zelda II so if you nailed the enemies, I will play this no doubt

All you need is to post some form of footage. I would really like to see what's going on so far

You know what, you bring up a good point. What is it to just say the scripts are complete without being actually able to see what they do. I'll work on a feasible solution to this problem.

I have indeed realized that I'm just one of three members who are doing Zelda II-related projects (although blackbishop is the only other one who is actually *remaking* Z2).
While I admit that I'm a little bummed that a number of people have had the same idea, I think there are enough differences in our projects to ensure that each quest will be unique.
For instance, blackbishop is using lots of scripting and is trying to recreate the experience much more closely than I am. I, on the other hand, am trying to use only standard ZC features without scripting to create a fun experience. Basically, I'm testing ZC 2.5's amateur-friendly features to see what I can do with them.
Cukeman, on the other hand, is making a direct sequel to Zelda 2. Therefore, he won't be recreating Zelda 2 itself... he'll just be trying to recreate its look and feel to a certain extent.
Also, I don't remember whether blackbishop is using the same tileset as Cukeman, but I know that neither of them are basing their tilesets on New BS. So there's that.
What bums you out about people sharing the same ideas for a quest as you? Oh and I believe Cukeman is using the classic tileset.
